These are mine and I also get fps drops/stuttering regularly but its map dependant. Song be and Anlao are the worst.
Some maps I can't pilot. As soon as I get airborne I drop to 20-30 fps its impossible to aim properly.
Turning everything to low and changing reso to 720p does not fix this for me either.
I'm usually at 80+ fps always but at totally random times the game just dies on me dropping to 30 and it also gets me killed when it happens.
There are guides I'll find some for you
CPU → FX-8350 (4 GHz)
GPU → MSI GeForce 1060 (3 GB)
RAM → 16 GB
I believe this would be better than mediocore, but not really high end either. Can reliably run any game at higher settings that I have played...except for RS2.
Those guides seem to be helping quite a bit. I am only getting some stuttering with barrages and other air support stuff. Cleared all of a Hilltop Bunker as a Nader with only a 1911. Next match was a terrifying Jungle sniper.
Thanks for the help, game is a lot more fun when you can face an enemy without a sudden drop of frames followed by a black screen.
Never select both Texture Streaming options. Only select the first one if you have less than 6GB of VRAM. Only select the second one if you have more than 6GB of VRAM.
Selecting the first option will limit the amount of VRAM textures take up while still leaving room for other buffering tasks.
Often the cause of stuttering is the lack of room for buffering, causing certain frames to take longer to complete their cycle.
You can see this happening by monitoring the frametime with a performance monitor like MSI Afterburner or HWiNFO64.
Large spikes in the frametime mean stuttering, even if the framerate stays relatively the same. Ideally (on a line graph) you want the frametime to be a near straight line.
my spects are:
- intel core i3 9100-f
- gtx 1050
- 8gb ram
-motherboard: msi Z390-A pro
i been playin the game in medium quality but the game still drop the fps, how can i fix that?
i dont want to believe what the problem ends playing the game in low, but i think so :/
Pd: srry for the english, its a work in progress
The guides at the beginning of this thread helped me out back in the day. I haven't really needed them in recent months...I guess there were some optimization updates.
The config editing isn't too hard but you can start out with turning on V-Sync and limiting the texture pool. If that doesn't work then drop all your settings to LOW and see if the stuttering continues. If it persists, then pull up that config and get the potato settings ready.
None of the lowered settings should cause problems with general gameplay, in fact, lower settings may make it easier to spot out enemies.
Worst case scenario, you'll have to main Grenadier
You should note that enabling Texture stream at all isn't advised unless you have 4GB of Vram or less.
Because it causes stuttering, it's a fundamental limitation of UE3.
I wouldn't even use the 2nd check box, just disable all texture streaming by leaving both boxes unchecked.
