Free aim may have sense if you are chamaeleon. Otherwise it's unnatural

none. Can't aim effectively in RS1 now because of it's free aim feature

Free aim is on by default on RO2/RS1 and I don't think you can change it...

IRON
SIGHT
Of course we're talking about iron sights. When you aim in RO2/RS1 using sights you still has that free aim zone. Here in Nam when i press aim i know that sights will be on center of screen, so i kinda got used to quickly point center of screen on enemy and then aim, adjust it a little and shoot. While there in RS1 i don't know where sights will be pointed, and that free aim zone also has different mouse sensivity. It helps on long distances, but in CQC it just gets me killed every time. And you can't turn it off.

But…

RS1 didn't have iron sight free aim. At all. It's a new thing.

Maybe i call it wrong word? I'm talking about when you press aim button, you start to look through iron sights and when you move your mouse in some dirrection your character sorta turn his eyes first, not moving head and body, and only when you reach a border of free aim zone he starts to turn head and body.
In RS2 character turns head and body immediately when you move your mouse while aiming through sights, by default. But you can still turn this feature on in settings.
In RS1 you can't turn it off at all.
Understand now?

You perfectly described free aim.

RS1 didn't have that for iron sights. Only hipfire.

No way... Maybe it wasn't there before RS2 released? Because last time i tried to play RS1 a couple months ago it was there and it couldn't be changed.
Maybe you misremember it? Try to play it and check this out.

uh, lemon.

did you play rs1 outside of arcade mode?
Never noticed it. But it's there. Played RO2 too much that it became the only shooter I played for years. So it just felt normal to me.

No wonder I can't hit anything in this game.

RO2 used smooth rotation by default. I don't even think it's in the options to disable it.

YES ON IRON SIGHTS

I couldn't figure out why I was worse at RS2 until I turned iron sights free aim on. Then it felt like my old love again.
