Performance in Linux with Steam Play / Proton
How well does RS2 run under Steam Play / Proton?
Has anyone tried it yet?

Currently RS2 does not support Steam Play. Steam Play is currently in beta, but it's something we can investigate in the future.

You can force any game to work with Steam Play. So far I have tried 3 older games and all worked flawlessly.

Just a word of caution since Killing Floor 2 also does not support it and players have reported issues with it.

You can run it following this guide someone wrote:
Ignore the anticheat window given focus to the splash and set the steam launch parameters as: cd "/<YOUR STEAM DIR>/steamapps/common/Rising Storm 2/Binaries/Win64"; %command%
But sadly server browser crashes it, and if you join game, after a moment you get kicked due to failed authentication.

Steam Play was the final nail in Windows' coffin for me. Deleted today and never ever will be installing it again. I really hope you'll get this sorted out since RS2 is my most played game at the moment.

Insurgency Sandstorm will have a native (yet dealayed) Linux release.

Yeah for me, too.
The only reason I still use Windows on my Desktop are some of my games.

Update: It works now with proton 4.2 without issues.
