Rifled Slug for VC Shotty - Redundant?
Sniped a Cobra gunner today with the VC Long Barrel using 00 which was tasty. Have scored multi-kills when randomly popping off at transports too.

Is the rifled slug good for vehicle penetration? Anyone use it in an anti-materiel capacity? I for the life of me don't know what situation calls for it given that one can snipe with 00 to 100m+ and wreck someones day whereas using solid slug bullet at such ranges will seldom see a kill landed. In fact rifled slug can't be relied upon to kill at close to medium oftentimes.

Is it useless? Why bother equipping? How do you like your slugs in the morning?

In my experience, the deer slug has much better material penetration than 00 buck, especially at range.

The slugs are the single most damaging projectile in the game for any primary weapon.

I always use 50:50 ammo. It's better to have slug and don't need one than be pinned by some guy sitting 150m away and couldn't wound him enough.

00 buckshot starting at just under 100m will fail to kill upon hitting critical zones. So you can survive headshots and the like.

Would it do more damage to Helis - the rifled slug? One weapon I've never had issue with is the IZH with 00. Godly.

I got no idea about its damage drop off at range. Only that it's heavy as hell and is fired with quite a significant velocity. A 1 oz slug is nearly a 450 grain round. Flying out the barrel at 1800 feet per second. It would however slow down quite quickly.

Ive never felt the need to take the slugs. The buck is the miracle round

You know they may have changed it but I have kills with the 00 buck at over 120+ headshots both with the VC shotgun and the steakout shotgun.

It has always been possible but rare, seen people get lucky kill with the sawn off.

You can still kill them for sure.

You just won't get the "critical" hit which is an instant kill regardless.

I only use shotguns now if I can get the class as the AK and M16 take 2 or even 3 hits to drop anyone, the shotgun though especially the VC double barrel I was popping GIs of at 60+m with one barrel it's insane damage straight kill!! Getting 20+ kills a match with shotgun campared to 10 at most with rifles

This is really bugging me, why is taking multiple AK rounds to drop people? Especially to center mass. I've never had a problem in RO2 or Rising Storm with well placed shots to center mass, but in this game. All ever hear is hitmarkers, and then blood splatter, and a G.I sprinting full speed like nothing is happening.

Intermediate rounds take 1-2 hits center mass to kill, unless you hit one of the five vital areas on the body. Best tactic is exactly what soldiers did during the war: keep firing until your target goes down and stops moving.

Happens. I love me some slugs. Busts right through just about everything and drops people like clockwork. Great for flushing enemy out from behind cover.
