Sadly, Green Army Men DLC will fail

I don't want it to, but I'm sure it will. It will be broken because most people who've already spent money on all the other DLC don't want to pay for more DLC that has already been included for free in the game before during X-mas events. Everyone will try it out when it comes out but get bored of only playing Rifleman and if you think that's going to encourage people to buy it you're sadly mistaken -- it will just cause people to stop playing it even faster due to boredom and play normal RS2 (just like during X-mas events).

Really wish you guys would've thought this through but I have no doubt this won't go where you guys want it to. :[

You mean the game that only has cosmetics and people who spent money on cosmetics will not to want to spend money on a DLC that will unlock more classes for them? Solid thinking. I'm glad you know that people would rather spend money on useless cosmetics rather than unlocking classes for a DLC.

I think for it's scale it will do well enough. It's not an interesting enough theme to be as assertive of an expansion as RS:1, but there's a pretty dedicated playerbase and this game is rather accessible at its price point.

I know i'm going to buy it even if I don't play it, simply for the sheer amount of hours I've gotten out of this game the devs deserve the buckas far as I'm concerned, as opposed to most other large devs these days I can't trust where my dollar is really going.

I mean, in this particular gamemode it's all you really need. Rifleman can fly in a heli too, so that's good. Anyway, it might be best class overall but it gets repetitive and boring after a while, that's why ppl select different classes

Last time its the community mod not really DLC and the winter civil war with finland and russian also is community mod too. If the creators want some money yup they will talk with the admins and consider to make profit from it. I have no problem with it because everyone needs to eat too.

What i don't get is how they are going to go about this in the long term: Will they just refuse us access to the DLC for the rest of the year, until we get to play again next christmas? Will they have it permanently playable, which essentially makes it actual gameplay DLC? Does it just become a separate game?

Have you not played the gamemode? There's the other standard classes to choose from, we're not limited to riflemen only. Besides, its not like those getting it will play it to death till they get bored.

I really like the Green Army Men mode -- it's just really weird to have it in the game for free multiple times and then a couple years down the line release it as paid DLC. I just think it's the wrong way to go about it especially considering there have been no prior real game content DLC (it's all been cosmetic).

Also I think some of you only read the subject and not my post. I DON'T WANT RS2 TO FAIL AT ALL. I just think this choice of actions by Tripwire won't go as planned.
