How to play the RS2 Beta offline

So, if you're like me, you got curious when TW shut the servers down and decided to poke around the console.

In the interest of providing decent feedback for the survey questions, I wanted to get a chance to explore and play on some of the non-64 player maps that were included with this build. (Didn't get a chance to try them when the servers were up.)

So, when you get into the main menu, open the console with (~) and type
switchlevel then enter your desired map name.

UPDATED MAP LIST AS OF 2ND BETA WAVE
An Lao Valley: SND_AnLaoValley, VNSU-AnLaoValley
Compound: VNSK-Compound
Firebase: SND_Firebase, VNSK-Firebase, VNTE-Firebase
Helicopter Training (Just use the menus you berk): VNSP-HelicopterRange
Hue City: SND_HueCity, VNTE-HueCity
Jungle Camp: SND_JungleCamp, VNSK-JungleCamp
Shooting Range: (Again just use the tutorials) VNSP-ShootingRange

As these maps are subject to change, renaming, exclusion for focus testing, etc... you can always find a fresh list of maps and their technical names here
Rising Storm 2\ROGame\BrewedPC\Maps\

So if we wanted to hop on Hue City and get some trench gun practice in, we'd type:
switchlevel vnte-huecity

Once you've loaded into the map, open the console again and type in addbots 64, this should add the max amount of bots supported by the map. (Sadly I think the current builds cap at 32)

Congrats, you're now ready to bum around and kill some bots!

I get the feeling they are more concerned with game play issues at this point and less about bugs. I had to fill out that survay 2x. The first took forever as I really was attempting to give it a legit go. I had RS2 running in back ground and popped in to look up a name of something. Then alt tabbed out to plop into the form. Ya... great. Game crashed with a wacko white screen. Locked up windows and lost my form. 2nd go less effort. True story. I have no point.

I do have to say that a lot of my concerns after RS1 game play do not seem to be founded. Its seems like they are going a more legit route this go. Spawn tunnels or something like it should have been the thing long ago instead of spawn on SL.

Strange, I can confirm it still works. May I ask what level you were trying to load into?

Ah that'd be the issue, those maps were removed from this build.

Everything in the guide above has been posted exactly as you should type it, ironically enough syntax shouldn't matter. Be sure you don't confuse - and _

Other than that it should work fine.
