Try updating your Steam In-Game server browser max ping (Steam > Settings > In-Game). Set it to 250, and see if that helps.
Also, I've found that some servers get me in quickly, as opposed to others. I have the most trouble with official servers. Community servers usually work out best. The 14th's server, I tend to get in within 1 minute.
"connection to the host has been lost"
the first 2-3 times trying to connect to a server.
Doesn't matter which server.
After that 2-3 fails , it works all the time with all servers till I quit game
This fixed it for me on the Netgear R6220 router, here are the steps for this specific router:
1. Log in to the routers webinterface.
2. Press Advanced.
3. Press Setup, then QoS setup.
4. Above the "Reset" button there's a dropdown menu of games/services for QoS. Press it and choose "Add new application" in the bottom.
5. Name it whatever you want, i.e. "RO2 Vietnam". Set the priority to highest. Then set Starting port to 7777 and Ending port to 7779. Then press Apply.
6. Slay some vietnamese or vice-versa.
Hopefully this works for anyone else experiencing the same issue too. I'd love to hear the results!
