Adding your own music to the game

You know, I've been thinking.

The developers have this problem, that copyrighted songs cost a huge amount of money. Even though they have their own music playing in the background and in the choppers, which is really cool, a lot of people would really enjoy some CCR or Rolling Stones when sitting in a huey flying to their destination.

Now, what about a way to add your very own music to the game? Like a folder in the game files where you can add as many songs as you want to. This would only affect choppers though, so you'd have the great ambient music in the background playing, and near or in choppers your music fading in.
People who don't want to add their own songs get to hear all the other music which is already in the game and doesn't fall under the category "ambient music".

This would add more authenticity to the game compared to having your music playing in the background all the time. So you could actually enjoy both, great music by the devs while walking through the jungle and fighting against G.I.'s / VC, and your own favourites from the 60's and 70's.

Now please keep in mind that this is just an idea. If there is no way in making this possible or you people don't like this idea, that's fine. Just let me know what you and the developers think about this!

Not a bad idea. Ive played games in the past that had that option. I personally don't play with music on but great idea for people who do.

That would end in a whole lot of kicks and bans. At the very least the pilot becoming the most muted player in the game.

Heres a better alternative, What if the servers had a plug-in that allowed the server owner to add music to a list, Because the way you described is only client side so only you will here the music however if the server owner controls it everyone in the server can hear the music coming from the same source.

But that's what I was talking about: Having your music playing in the background at any time isn`t as immersive and great as having them play at certain moments in my opinion. So you could listen to your own music, and don`t have a disadvantage when sneaking trough the jungle and not hearing anything around you because of the music blasting in the background.

Bad company 2 vietnam, or battlefield vietman had great radio you can play with choppers and share with the enemy before they get killed under yours rockets.

This is a good idea. I dont play with music on. But music playing while riding in choppers would be great. Loudpeakers on the choppers would be cool also, to intimidate the opponents.

But you need to pay musics licence, DICE could afford those but tripware not. :/

Well, that's what my idea is all about. It makes playing with these kind of songs possible without the devs going bankrupt.

Did you not read the OP? We could add our own music, it only plays from the choppers.. No need to pay music licenses.

There is one problem though, there will be people playing other things besides music. Griefers are why most types of ingame customization are so limited, or non-existent..
