Are booby traps/AP Mines visible to friendlies?
As someone who hasnt played any of the beta testing i am wondering are the AP mines and traps in the game visible perhaps as marker to friendlies? i am guessing so otherwise griefers could set traps close to spawn points of their team. Or alternatively they wont detonate or trigger if a friendly runs over them? how is it in the game?

I don't quite remember if you can see them as glowing shapes or not, but don't worry as they don't detonate if you step on them (if you are friendly, of course). The explosion on the other hand, can kill you (if an enemy triggers it and you're near him, you will take damage).

Okay thanks, and i am guessing the enemy (and friendly) grenades can be thrown and detonate the mines or destroy the booby traps? this might be an advancement tactic but uses a lot of grenades up.

Ya daza exatly.

In Vietnam 2 most of the vietnamese classes have traps, they dont use their grenades like in Rising Storm 1 with the japanese.

However there is 1 class that can put down six, I said SIX anti personal mines. Thats really do some damage.

And with so many classes having mines I can imagine the vietnamese putting down mine fields. :P

You can shoot them so I would assume so.

Okay, this is going to make things interesting and hopefully will cause more players/squads to work together than just go gun-ho, such as some groups dedicated to clearing a path and overwatch the area to keep it safe.

I play a lot of Squad too, and i find that game can have the best team work ive seen in a shooter but can have the worst too, with not so good SL or squad mates. Playing a lot of RS1 too, but it seems to be more charge into battle than team work. I do know working as a team earns you more XP and points etc but why not in RS2 have a mechanic where if you Squad is relatively close together the whole team has more supression value on the enemy as a unit giving a incentive to work together as well. Also a revive system could aid working as a team too.

The reason Squad is like that is because it's pretty much forced and it's a good thing.

Yeah that is true, as well as the SL has options for building FOBs, Rally points etc. It can be quite rewarding working with a good team, it feels like team work rather than just running about killing stuff. Both games have a different pace too.

A commander Role open to high level players could possibly fit in RS2?? where squad leaders are directed or given some basic tasks, with the Commander having a overview map with more info than everyone else, as well as a com channel directly to Squad Leaders. This wouldnt be a strict requirement to have a commander but useful for clan vs clan matches or servers that encourage team play. I would rather fight where most needed, winning is fun.
