Half the time they sounds bored or just not into it.
Like, "get back to the fight, soldier" line for US annoucer. You think your commander would be on your ass some more from leaving the combat area
I thik they hired an Adian person, not rilly Vietnam one. Could be reaon for prowlem.
Instead I was immediately disappointed to hear an english line spoken in a heavily accented (good or bad, I don't care nor am I an expert on this region's accents. Though I must admit they do sound fairly humorous when trying to say words like Echo.) manner. I was even more disappointed when I heard some lines spoken in full native language. Honestly, I would rather take one or the other. Either give me full native or just have everything in english, this mixed stuff drives me up a wall. I hope that one day we will get a full native voice over for the PAVN and NLF factions but at this point I am not holding my breath.
Not exactly impressive with the supposedly standalone title. I let it go during the beta since I assumed they were going to clean this stuff up for a late Q2 release but then they decided to "release" the game despite having changed absolutely nothing from the open beta.
Now, it takes just as much time to do it wrong as it does to do it right. Unless of course you are trying to do VC voice acting like it is being delivered Disney style. Hopefully we will see some Hard Core Nam weap/voice/vis mods headed our way when the Unreal Modders get a hold of this game.
That`s not to say RS2 Vietnam doesn`t deliver. I just think a bit more in the right areas like... real Viet voice acting.... would have been a great kick for RS2 Nam.....
After the way tripwire treated modders in the past? I hope we'll see some mods but i'm not holding much hope.
Nah, Vietcong (2003) had the best Vietcong/NVA voice acting. They actually hired actual North Vietnamese voice actors for all the dialogue and/or battle cries/taunts. It was top notch.
It was a better Vietnam game as well, IMHO.
That being said, the vietnamese voice acting is indded a joke in this game. It sounds like a google translate generator, but the worst thing is that it's an actually human being attempting to speak vietnamese.
The way its spoken, with all the long unnatural pauses between each words make me think the voice actor was struggling with the accent or something.
