A new Motorsport Manager?
Hello my friends!

Thank you so much for being here and continuing to be part of the Motorsport Manager community. We appreciate you SO much.

Every time someone messages me about an MM2 it makes me happy. I'm so grateful you're here and wanting a sequel.

We all wish it could have happened. It's been a journey!

To be super clear, there is no sequel right now. But the desire to make one is there.

Let's have a chat.
  • What would you love to see in a new game?
  • What would you like less of?
  • What have you enjoyed about other motorsport management games?
If you have ideas for future versions, now's a great time to send them our way.

Feel free to chat through ideas here, or even send deeper thoughts via christian-mm2@playsportgames.net

We may not be able to reply to everyone, but we absolutely will read every message we get sent.

Thank you again for your patience and for being here still. You are stars!

Speak to you soon!

Christian

Some off-track "Manager Life" elements. I fondly remember the feeling as a kid with "Pole Position", where you loaded your trucks and sent them off to the racetrack :) I also loved the "office" you had there.

Absolutely, that was immersion +1000! :)

Frank, sadly the original Game is to much blocked from mobile Programming, which made the Race-Weekend in most Parts unrealistic (f. e. Engine- / Gearbox-Repair, Qualifing, Training) as well as in some Management-Parts (f. e. R & D, Personal).

All in all it´s a good Game, but it have to be fully canceld from the Mobile Programming, then we can see the Potential it have.

Fantastic work everyone! This is great stuff.

Thank you to everyone that has posted on here so far and thank you to everyone that's sent an email my way.

Every post and every message has been read, noted, and is helping to form the structure of the next game.

There are conversations happening daily and funding is nearly in place. A sequel has never been closer to being a reality than it is right now.

Every drop of feedback, positivity, and engagement is helping us to get this over the line.

Keep it coming!

Christian
Love it love it love it!

Since you've signalled that a new game is a realistic possibility now, there one more thing I need to say that is very important, more so than any other suggestion I've made;

NO DENUVO. Whichever publisher you go with, don't agree to any deal if they get ideas to slip that malware DRM into your project.

The main thing I'd personally love to see is an option to skip race day or simulate it within a few seconds with some options you set beforehand on how to manage the race.

I know this is a key part of the game but I love the management during the season and sometimes I just want to skip to certain races etc.

It makes me happy to know this is being considered.

In a new game, I would prefer to see an increased emphasis on testing and telemetry. For instance, a speed graph for the entire lap, which could be used to compare the delta against one's best lap and other drivers, and allow for fine-tuning of wings, suspension, and other components. Every adjustment made would have an impact on the vehicle's speed on straights, turns, and other features.

Example (this is real world data, so for a game it could be amplified for better visualization):

The idea is to replace the system of the first MM in which we rely solely on the driver to tweak the settings and simply put the arrow inside the green bar.

Also, I would like to see more nuances in the choices we make. It's safe to say that a 4 star driver is better than one who have 3 stars. But I want them to have more differences than just being faster. (the current differences are too small compared to the pace difference)

Nice to see that you are involving the comunity in discussions, thanks for that. In terms of suggestion. I would like to see that in GT class you could maybe pick different style of car since GT series aren't mostly single make. And in endurance maybe try to implement multiclass racing, maybe your GT team gets an offer to take part in fictional LeMans 24h, which could be another interesting aspect of managing a 24h race with day and night cycle and all the unpredictability of longer endurance racing. As for something a bit more far fetched, it would be interesting to see offroad motorsports like Rallycross, which ads another managerial decision, the "joker lap" which must be taken once per race. And you could use the existing tracks with rallycross configuration. Or something like the new Exyreme E which has some interesting aspects of racing. It would be amazing if the less known motorsports get some appreciation. Maybe add it as a DLC like in mm1 with endurance and gt.

Hi, I still play this game whenever I have time. I also have F1 manager but it quickly lost its position to good ol motorsport manager. Here are some things that for me really make motorsport manager superior to whatever else there currently is on the marked:

- Drivers feel like real people. All the different permanent and temporary traits that they can get really helps this game feel like the real thing! Love this, and more of this please!

- Rule changes. It is really cool that you can have all kinds of crazy rules. I still haven't tried the rolling starts yet, but I love that I can introduce the rule to open wheel racing. More of this please!

- Graphics are already great! F1 manager has very cool camera angles. But they are not really worth it if the rest of the game lacks. So for me, what motorsport manager is already doing is more than fine!

I would love to see more tracks! No licensed content is needed in my opinion. Just tracks that are close to the real thing or inspired by the real thing is enough.
I would also love to see more accidents or random events in the game. What I really enjoy about real world motor racing, is when random events happen. It changes a race from being somewhat predictable to exciting and enjoying to watch.

Just some quick thoughts. Hope a sequel happens :-)

Wow! To think we could have a new MM, after the travesty that is F1 Manager 22... !!!
I'm weak at the knees already!

I don't have much to add that hasn't already stated by others. MM was always such an impressive and addictive management and race game - with a couple of overhaul mods in later days it turned into one of my most played games ever. After a six month or so break, I'm considering firing it up again and getting back into the madness.

The only features 'that other game' has going for it are beautiful graphics and choice of camera angles (at the shameful expense of an immersive, playable game) so would be great to have in-car cameras etc. and of course improved models. I'd also love more circuits.
I only played open-seater, F3,F2 and F1, and Real World teams and drivers would be a major plus but, unless licensed, I guess that would be for modders to bring in.

Race AI has also been greatly improved by mods - it was a little weak in the early days.

Beyond this, well, I guess it will be at least a couple of years before we see it but I now have a reason to keep living! Fantastic news, Christian. Your team delivered one of the best PC games of any kind ever. So excited at the prospect of the long-awaited sequel.

I think red flags will be a very cool feature.

ANY session can be stopped with a very low chance (don't make it frequent). Sometimes it will be continued later, sometimes it will be finished as in real life. The whole bunch of mechanics related to red flags will make the game even more dramatic. :hittheroad::hittheroad::hittheroad:

The addition of GT and endurance was so cool! Would be great to have electric vehicles as well!

Just check the mod scene, pick the most downloaded and favourite mods and get in contact with them to get that in the game. The mods is whats kept and is keeping the game alive.

Must be a full PC game (or console for that matter) that has no ties to some Mobile ♥♥♥♥ that barely gets played.

Dynamic relations/people.
More building options, more indepth too.
Betters sponsor options+ more control over livery,
Just overall just a tat more indepth.

I get that licenses are a thing, so i dont expect any real names or logo`s but the variety thas is there has to be big.

A skip raceday option, just like qualli and practice.
Visuals if cars crash, for example a small screen on display where what happened.

radio calls to your drivers, not limited to 3 but at least 30.
This is just what comes to mind at first.

personally i’d most like to see more robust modding tools and tutorials, the current ones are alright but a little hard to figure out as a beginner.
other stuff i’d like to see:

• more traits for both drivers and engineers/mechanics (like for example a trait that could make an engineer more likely to leak info to other teams or something like that, just things to add depth to more than just the driver side of things)
• this might be a little overambitious but more in-depth/customizable car development would be very cool, like for instance being able to choose between different front wing/rear wing models and stuff like that
• more advanced ai strategies—i think the current ai becomes fairly easy to outmaneuver during the race once you get the hang of things. i do understand that the ai has to be able to account for all the possible rules and stuff but the challenge of the game does fade a bit as you rack up hours

I do like the idea of a sort of "picture in picture" style whenever a major event happens during a session. I like to have the camera pan over sometimes, but other times I do not and I feel this would address that.
