On the flip side, aren't you checking their fatigue levels after every race to see who needs to be replaced/rested? It's not much more to check on their contract to see how much longer they have
While on general topic...I feel like I'm still missing something in pit crew management. I pay attention to the mechanics' Concentration stat when hiring. I've built up the stats of the pit guys over a couple seasons. I've got enough guys to routinely swap them out every race or two and go into every weekend with all of them green; well below 1.0% mistake chance. Spending approx 200k (euro) per race on these guys (this is at ERS level). "On paper", they look pretty good (I think). The hub screen seems to indicate such; shows my pit crew ranked as top in the ERS.
Yet a mistake-free race remains a pretty rare thing...I'd say there's at least one pit mistake in 3 out of 4 races, and often multiple ones. I'm not sure if that's just how it is, or if I'm not doing it right and my guys simply aren't good enough. I admit I do use "Fast" pits a lot.. that's the probable culprit.
1. You make it manually and have to look after every race to the remaning contract time for every used / unused Pit Crew Staff. You have to refresh the contracts manually. But there you can decicde to change the crew and let rest the working crews after some Races (I prefer after 2 or 3 if possible) as well as get new good personal manually.
2. You let one of your Mechanics make Point 1 automaticaly (I let them do this only for the contract-time controll and refreshing). In this Case you have to trust your mechanics.
3. Personaly I prefer point 3. It´s a mix of Point 1 and 2. I buy in the Personal I wanna have and make changes after 2 or 3 Races to get fresh Personal to the Boxes and let Rest the others. And in the case of Failures I will change the Personal too manually. The normal things about the Pit Stop Crew I let do one of my mechanics.
In the other Challanges you won´t get new personal, the existing personal is what you get and have. There you can make point 2.
