PerfectSetup Mod
If you're tired of doing the repetitive work each practice to get the 3 'perfect smileys', you can use this mod, it gives you the perfect setup from the start of the race weekend.

the download contains 2 versions, one for those playing the original game, and one for those playing the FlamingRed balance mod

Those who want even less micro managing, I've also have a mod "perfect setup" + "auto driving style & engine mode"

Just a personal satisfaction, nothing different from 98%... trust me, better to make more laps and gain right bonuses...

Obviusly manually! Never used mod to do the setup. I can understand someone don't like to "waste" time in researching setup, but for me, simply, is not a "waste" of time, is the game!

Ever manually like you Hikyu. In Training and Qualfing to get a 99 % Setup for the Races. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. And it´s a learning process to make it better next time.

Like you said, it´s no waste of time, that gives the game the life it need. :steamhappy:

Hey buddy thanks for posting this, do you know if the auto driving style and engine mode will be coming along soon?

Or you know, Learn to play?

Sure, but after 10-15 seasons, when I know for sure I can get 98-99% manually every time, doing that is just boring. Also, when you play on laptop, adjusting those bars with touchpad is irritating, and of course you can't just type values in some boxes.

I've got no plans to do this, sorry. I only updated this fix because I used it and missed it.

Please post this on a website that doesn't require registration / login. Thanks.

Is there any way we could have a version of this mod that takes into account driver feedback to modify exactly how much trim/tire knowledge they learn during simulated practice? I can always reach 98%+ setup on my own and I'm glad for this mod to take that micromanagement out of the system but I'm not particularly fond of the fact that I automatically get maximum knowledge of the track as well when that's more something that's based on the driver's stats and not my own gameplay expertise. I feel like if knowledge is based on driver feedback, that strikes a better balance for this mod.

unfortunately driver feedback [that come with static noise] isn't inside the calculation, it's just there for fun AFAIK

I think I have the solution you are looking for; i've been digging through files trying to find what I need for it.

Currently the formula for Perfect Setup is
Setup = 99%

The ideal formula for Assisted Setup is
Setup = (Driver 1 Feedback + Driver 2 Feedback) / 40 * 100

Example
Setup = (20 + 20) / 40 * 100 = 100%
Setup = (4 + 8) / 40 * 100 = 30%
Setup = (12 + 15) / 40 * 100 = 67.5%

Alternatively if you wanted a minimum of 50% as your starting accuracy you'd have
Setup = ((Driver 1 Feedback + Driver 2 Feedback) / 20 * 25) + 50

Setup = ((20 + 20) / 20 * 25) + 50 = 100%
Setup = ((4 + 8) / 20 * 25) + 50 = 65%
Setup = ((12 + 15) / 20 * 25) + 50 = 83.75%

I know where to change it but can't work out where to draw the variable for driver feedback... if any of the other guys poking around wanna have a crack at implimenting it or pointing in the direction of the variable im trying to hook it would be good to give it a go.

Thanks for the awesome answer... except I just found out that using this mod and simulating practice doesn't actually guarantee maximum knowledge which someone in another thread had said it would! However, the simulation seems to massively under-utilize the driver's feedback stat and instead UNDER-performs the knowledge gained via simulation! How lame. At the end of the day, we still need a better simulation of practice so I can still skip the tedium and have the stats be what matters.
Fritz Sep 5, 2017 @ 6:23pm
Oh did I inadvertently cause a misunderstanding? I didn't mean the mod literally guarantees your team max knowledge. My point was that with set up optimization out of the way, there's no need to interrupt the practice stints with numerous pit stops to tweak the set up. That's the optimal situation for you to gain the most knowledge possible given your situation (driver feedback, session length, etc). So you're effectively (not literally) given max knowledge (ie it's impossible for your team to earn more). Looks like I need to be more careful with hyperbole and exaggerations.

*just to make sure, that is what the mod does right? Automatic 100% set up optimization but leaves you to run practice as you see fit?
