I was really excited to play this again for the first time since around it released, especially after seeing the 95% review average. And wow nostalgia has to be a heavy drug. I really liked what Ty 1 was going for but it was held down by how tedious the opal collecting could be. This one however is very different and goes for a road based, mission objective game. The budget feels less than the first game, the tone more kiddy and why did they replace Ty's imo really good voice actor with someone who isn't Australian? Lol. Where this game really drops the ball is how it handles traversal. The driving roads are so segmented and there's no fast travel that i see. If you're deep in a mission's area and finish it you have to slowly run back to the entrance, backtracking everything you just did with enemies who respawn every 20 seconds. Or you exit in the menu, return to the town where you have to slowly run back to the starting driving area and drive to your next mission from the very beginning! Which as you get farther in the game becomes a bigger and bigger problem. Wish they just made a better version of 1 with new levels and better collecting design.
