this game is over a decade old and likely using old code from the xbox version because it used directX and was most similar to a pc, the first challenge to getting it on linux would be to message one of the devs and ask them if they could look into something called the vulkan api which is basically a non terrible version of openGL thats faster and a lot easier to work with, if they can get that working with the game engine then making a linux port will be a lot easier.

Just use Wine or run a Windows VM (if installing a Windows OS beside your Linux OS is out of the question) if you already own the game and are on Linux or wait for a port that may or may not ever happen.

Gday
Why is supporting Linux so hard?
Cant you guys support -
OpenAL/GTK/SDL/SDL2 and OpenGL/Vulkan ?
Or is it because stuff like Unity or microsoft complilers make it hard to support
linux cross platform design or using plugins/addons that only work under winx
Love to understand whats blocking you guys supporting Linux in 2017 ?
Linux experience, QA and money. The game is OpenGL and OpenALSoft (for better 3D support)
You tried asking Feral interactive to help? They're well known for their good linux ports. I'd really love to replay this game natively on my computer c:
I follow the philosophy 'Tux, then bux', so hopefully, I'll be able to buy it one day,
I hope they can support Linux ,
this would be a great split screen local couch coop game
on Steam OS/Linux Steam machine
Both Unity and UE4 supports Linux
It looks like Unity and UE4 will support VULKAN
Really wish devs would CUT the ties with vendor lock in API's
and choose OPENGL + OpenAL + SDL + VULKAN
instead of dotnet + DX11
Have you seen the http://gamingonlinux.com/ website ,
they often mention how games are made on linux ,
it seems feral makes a few ports from directx to linux ,
If you looking for Q/A
why not release a free playable alpha build and ask the
community on steam and http://gamingonlinux.com/
to ask for beta testing
