Multiplayer - Guy consistently finishing 5+ seconds ahead of everyone else for 10 races in a row

Is there some secret technique everyone except this one guy is missing? This dude placed 1st in every race for 10 races in a row, and was consistently 5 seconds ahead of second place. Everyone else was within a second or two of 2nd place, so it's not like there was a huge skill gap in the lobby.

there's some insane builds in multiplayer and probably getting good rolls and using all the shortcuts

This was in quick race lol no power ups. He was using a speederbike and just absolutely smoking me on turns, in straights, everywhere. It's not like I wasn't using afterburner and ramjet either. Wasn't even shortcuts, dude was just ungodly fast.

Maybe speederbikes are just really strong because of the drift boost? I hesitate to call them "OP" with how new the game is, but damn.
