You cannot play with more than 2 friends, not in quick, anywhere --> outdated design.

Many older gamers wished for so many years for Racer to come back and could play together... 6-7-8 players anytime. But no... u can only play with a group of 3 and 9 other random guys. What a letdown.

I just cannot believe somewhere along the way this was not suggested by the devs... and some CEO really thought "hey... noone has more than 2 friends nowadays! " "And no father would like to play only with his children and npcs probably!"

Boi, this will hit hard on many players who still dont know.

My group have quite literally just found this out. It seems like such a bizarre decision? We even joked about how when we load into the game we will find out it's only 3 players. Not for 2 seconds did we even consider it might actually be true! I guess it's better we found out now and saved our money.

Just found this out too and glad I did. Bare minimum for any racing game is the ability to do a 1v1 against a mate on time-trial then invite a few more people in for a proper race/battle.

No sale for me and my gaming group.

When I saw it was not an EA game, I was delighted as that meant less corporate BS. Decisions like this, along with using Denuvo, have proved me wrong.

couldn't care about multiplayer. only restriction i can imagine is to stop lobbies from letting some one win over and over. but if there's no rankings that wouldn't matter... so back to square one, hopefully the just patch private lobbies in. couldn't even host a custom tourney if it's true

I just want to 1vs1 my best Friend.. or maybe with two others, No NPCs, custom Games.. only the races and planets we want. But apparently having a custom game is too much to ask in 2026.. No it always has to be stupid Matchmaking with Randoms i don't want to race..
