As far as I have understood, I can´t edit the standard museum, and I can only use the Museum Creator to publish designs int the workshop, but I can´t add an extra wing to the normal museum, or an additional building or something were I can place more tanks for the visitors, and see trees from the windows, right?

Yeah the new museum is just an editor that allows creating bigger custom rooms. This was the main target here and keeping the limit at 12 tanks is not crossable at all at this point. We would need to remake all the vehicles to allow having more than 12 different tanks at once as the models are not optimized to be displayed at once
