I have bought a couple wrecked ones from the yard though. Check there if you just really want one. The available wrecks seem to randomly change every time you load the game or do an excavation, I think.
same on panthers.
Edit: I have found a Tiger in the scrapyard after returning from an excavation. Also realised I've never ever seen a Pz. IV...
for me the most found tank so far is the KV2.
for completing the achievements or filling up the museum take a look at your backyard. Buying such a wreck ($60 - $120) and completing it only with rusty parts costs you around $2000 and some time of course :)
This is an exact description of things. For some reason the RNG allows spamming of certain types of tanks in a given game, without regard to what you already have, or tank rarity in the real world. The KV-2 should be really rare, seeing that they made only ~350 of these, far fewer than the production of Panthers, which are super rare in real life. So to have multiple KV-2's is kind of funny.
The yard is, IMO, the perfect companion to the blueprints. The reason is the yard tanks are typically very incomplete, maybe 25 to 33% of parts, compared to some digs where the tanks are 80% complete. So, you need to buy, or better yet, make your own parts, which is pretty realistic.
My current project is to restore my first (yes) Panther, from the yard, using (very expensive at 450k) blueprints. Looking forward to it!
