Save file location
Ok, this may sound stupid, but I can't find save file anywhere. Location I found on internet (C:\Users\XXX\AppData\LocalLow\DeGenerals\TankMechanicSimulator\) contains only file "output_log.txt" and folder "Unity", which in turn contains folder "local.6765fb0e12325bd3243d64b46b7c2fd83" (number randomized) which has only folder "Analytics" with "config" and "values" files and empty "ArchivedEvents".

No profile files / folders anywhere, and I did look for it a lot. I want to play on two computers with one save, and cloud saving is not available :(

Hope anyone can help me? Game is great, few bugs didnt stop me so far. :)

Well, my "output_log" file have 240mb. I belive this is the main file.

Output_log seems to contain game processing logs, like dropping unnecessary packets, Unity engine stuff and so on. It's text file, so You can actually read it (with Your size I recommend notepad ++, normal notepad will not handle this). I've analized mine, and it has no profile-related info. :(

Game saves are stored inside Windows Registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Degenerals\TankMechanicSimulator

You can create new additional profile in the game, to keep old save on first profile and start new game with second. Also, you can use following "hack" to dump registry data into file.
In game (for example when you are in Warehouse), press ~ (tilda) key and use following command:

savegame 1

then, it will export save data into file:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\TankMechanicSimulator\TankMechanicSimulator_Data\StreamingAssets\Internal\tms1.data

To load game, copy this file into second computer, load game, load Warehouse, use command:

loadgame 1

Thanks for the info. I have a freeze twice in game and have to force quit on task manager. The first time I lost my progress, the second time it didnt happened but I'm worried now. Also, if I save (export) the registry key, can it be used like a backup of the game save?

exactly - save it somewhere on your harddisc or desktop. Later you can right-click that registry file and choose "merge" (need administrator rights) - this will restore your savegame.

Thank you very much, this will prevent another data loss!

Isn't this a rather unusual way of implementing saves? The registry isn't generally somewhere save games reside, and it's certainly not something you should be messing around with unless you know precisely what you are doing.

IT WORKS!

And @Zenith - You don't have to modify registers - command "savegame 1" creates a file, which You then use by "loadgame 1" <-- no registery modification necessary.

But I concur - registery IS a strange place to keep savegame.

I think it is highly unusual to save it in Windows registry. Can't say that I ever have heard of a game doing this before. They may want to rethink this. Once more DLC comes out this will cause the save game to swell.

What will they do if they actually have mod support? Seems like a really bad idea.

Please put the save game in APPDATA where it belongs.

Thank you! I recently did a fresh install of windows 10 to a new hard drive and transferred my appdata folders since that was where a lot of them are usually stored, and you can imagine my chagrin upon loading the game only to find it had been set back to start. Using your location info and a guide to open old hive files in the registry I managed to rescue my saves from the old registry ^.^

They really should think about storing them elsewhere though...

And why are you doing that? Game saves doesn't belong into the Windows registry, also without knowledge of undocumented command lines it's not possible to make a backup (files can be copied with backup software).
If TMS would be a game in early development stage then it would be OK at first but it's a fully released game and not early access.
