How do you find Collectables?

you can pick up the machine guns off the tanks you dig up. only ones ive found so far.

^^ Sometimes extra MG's spawn as well. Once found a spare DP-27 on top of a T-34, otherwise they appear to be mostly things you just take off the tank itself as Bad_Marduk said.

Dev tip, hit the G key when excavation is underway, you'll find more than you thought was originally there. You'll mostly find machine guns belonging to tanks, but I've found a few infantry weapons, and someone said you can find medals, which are super rare.

It becomes much easier once you have the Drone, but the Circle it gives for Excavations can have a few different metal spots which for some reason the Metal Detector and Magnetic thing doesn't pick up either. But with a Drone, it will pop up, and if you go to those Metal Detected areas and hit G, you'll find where to dig. The only issue is that you can't hit G while holding the Shovel, which is stupid. And it doesn't stay highlighted for too long.

Found a medal on the side of the road(hit G instead of F to get on quad and saw it light up), a grease gun out in a field(drone found it on the way to dig site circle), and two MGs in the water around an excavation site. In the habit of checking from spawn point to dig circle with the drone now for collectables.

found a PPSh at the very first tank i extracted from earth.

didnt find any others yet.

i usually dont take the inside mounted MG, i let them as part of the tank XD

I found a pistol yesterday with the metal detector

I've found a mine in a graveyard. But for some reason i'm unable to extract it. Does anyone have any idea on what to do there?
It won't let me dig nor excavate. And if I find metal by using the drone the handheld metal detector and the other thingamajig can't see it at all.

I just found a medal with my drone. As well two other spots with metal, but i am not able to dig them out. They are in mud terrain where you sligtly get stuck with your car.

yeah, while hitting the G-key i can see the object, but its too deep to grab.

yeah i keep seeing stuff with G that are way out of bounds or way too deep to dig out.

Ahh so you can find things outside of the circle... Arrh I've only been checking inside the circle ... Thanks for the screenshot ;)

The drone found a lot of medals in one trip, outside the usual circular tank search area. I uncovered 4 assault medals. In the previous trip I unearthed a handgun.

When you are close,according to the drone, bring your shovel, and maybe drop it on the ground. Hold the G key as suggested by Bad_Marduk. You will see your shovel highlighted in orange, and hopefully, within reach, also highlighted will be the object you are looking for. You may have to dig a little to lower the level of the ground near the object, but eventually you can drop the shovel then click the object and you take possession of it.

However...none of these are showing up in the in-game museum collectibles inventory, so I am as yet unable to see them. Hope this is fixed soon.
