something special in this game

I cannot for the life of me get this game to stop stuttering, which is a shame because this game's art style looks really cool and i've heard good things about it. Tried following the few guides I could find to try and fix but nothing works

Genuinely such a beautiful game. Great to play with family and you can still get lost in a new steampunk world designed incredibly. 11/10 - BUY IT !

As far as I remember, Machinarium was Amanita's breakthrough game into the mainstream. Back in the day, some critics used to call their games 'autistic', but I feel they paved the way for games to get 'crazier' with their approach... which would become a standard for indie games as a whole. They didn't try to replicate the graphic adventure game recipe and went with what would become 'their thing'. And that thing was an immersive and artistic experience. If you want to solve convoluted and confusing puzzles you should look for those elsewhere. What Amanita do (especially well with Machinarium) is they tell a nice story with little-to-no dialogue and rely heavily on art, sound design and especially the music, to hit you in the feels and set the tone for what's happening on screen and narrative-wise.
I highly recommend playing it on a big screen with good surround sound tech or proper headphones. You can play this even more casually with a controller, so have a go at it.

Playing this reminded me why, despite trying a good number of point-and-click games, I rarely complete them. There's something about the atmosphere that is unmatched but as soon as you get to your first obtuse puzzle you often need A LOT of perseverance to push through.

Machinarium excels in both; art and presentation are incredible, but the puzzles... oh boy, the puzzles.

A solid recommendation for everything it does well, because it does those things VERY well, but be prepared to do a lot of thinking outside the box.
