Yeah exactly. Corvo's powers are useful for both combat and stealth. There's just so many ways to use his powers but with emily it feels all geared towards stealth but Corvo's powers are still better for stealth in every way.
Maybe we are missing something important.
Remember Far Reach? That thing you can use to hurl whale oil tanks at people, and hurl people towards you so you can stab them?
Remember Mesmerize? That thing where you can place a void entity down, and kill up to four people as they just stand there?
Remember Link? That thing where you can link up to four people, kill one, and they all die at once?
Remember Doppleganger? That thing where you can spawn up to two of yourself to fight for you?
Remember Shadow Walk? Where you can LITERALLY KILL ANYTHING WITH THE SINGULAR CLICK OF A MOUSE DURING BATTLE.
Actually think of the things you can do before you say "oooo, I can't do anything!" Link and Mesmerize put together are deadly. Link and Far Reach together are deadly. Shadow Walk period is deadly. Doppleganger and far reach together are deadly.
Also there is a bonecharm that makes you invisible when you use far reach. Even without it I've never been detected.
Seems that you're the one who sucks at using her. In that case don't blame her powers - it's a different playstyle - just stick with Corvo.
You can use it to grab things.
Karnaca Docks, there's a couple of Overseers giving a lecture. There's a rune, and a bonecharm, on the table. Without creating a big scene ... Far Reach is perfect for snagging both items. Perch on a rooftop nearby, and YOINK, bonecharm is yours, YOINK, so is the rune. And no-one the wiser for it!
like mesmerize and domino
far reach is a grapple, not a blink
you grapple yourself towards locations or enemies towards your boot
shadow walk is basiclly a free pass from one area to another
unlike time stop, the level 1 keeps you hidden regardless
dopple is not really impressive to be honest but it is useful if you suck at stealth
as for her gadgets, she got better gadgets
her crossbow and gun are more accurate than corvo
aswell she naturally runs faster
she's better suited for flesh and steel playthrough to be honest, i did mine with her and with runes give you 200 each you can basiclly upgrade your gun to 11 by chapter 3
No worries, man, I didn't think of it the first couple of times through there either.

I never even thought of doing that! God I feel like an idiot
