Linux version unofficially available
Good news for all Linux users - the Linux version is as of now unofficially available. Because AMD is not supported in this version (you can try, but it's likely that the game will crash or there will at least be a lot of graphical issues) and we'd like to collect user feedback first, we've decided to not feature the Linux version on the steam page, yet.

All backers and everyone else who already bought the game will be able to install it using the steam client on Linux, though.

EDIT: Anyone having problems launching the game via Steam, try manually starting the executable outside of Steam.

Have fun and please let us know if there are any problems.

Get a small glimpse here (filmed at the office): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEYhlrFnRUg&feature=youtu.be

Now I have huge stuttering occuring almost all the time. Game is unplayable, any shoot or explosion will make it like a slideshow instead of smooth battle.

Also I noticed that now the ship is less responsive to the mouse, and increasing the sensitivity of the mouse only increase the sensivity of the cursor but not the one of the ship accordingly.

I wish there was a way to reverse to the previous version.

I also noticed less reaction on ship maneuvering. But out of that, it's working pretty well for me on Mesa 17.3.2

I had to turn up sensitivity as well. I think that it just got reset back to 0.5?

Sorry forgot to mention my specs:
i7-2600 @3.9GHz
12GB Memory
GTX970 with 384.111
Linux Mint 18.3

I've noticed the sensitivity decrease as well. Even turning it up to one, I've noticed that there's now a slight lag between moving the mouse and seeing the cursor position update. It's like the difference between a software cursor vs a hardware cursor. The previous version played much better in this regard.

Tried to set it to 1.0 and it still feels slow. But still playable

It looksl ike the graphical glitching visible on some background planets is gone as well, and I think (hard to say for sure) that the game is performing a little better for me.
I noticed your Anti-Aliasing Method (Options > Display > Advanced) was either set to OFF or FXAA, which creates little blooms of light. In my own experiences, setting it to TEMPORAL AA actually helped my performance...though I'm saying this from Windows 10 instead of Linux so that might be a moot point. Might be worth a short test or so.

Definitely check out the interior of the Scout. ;-)

Ah yeah, I almost always turn AA off. Will fiddle, but I'm pretty happy with how the game is running :)

Effects Quality and Post Process Quality are the 2 settings that have a big impact on frame rate. To those who need more performance, set those to only MEDIUM.

Texture Quality has no impact on performance as long as your graphics card has sufficient VRAM. Set it to EPIC.

I hope the graphics setting could be updated to have more options such as controlling the level and type of Ambient Occlusion. SSAO has lesser performance impact compared to HBAO.

Still waiting for this to go final, good to see the progress!

One side note - today, I tried playing the game in VR (which I was able to do previously[www.twitch.tv]), but now am unable to. When running the game with the -vr parameter, the game hangs and eventually crashes before showing the main manu.

Everything is working in Debian Stretch since the last patch!

Unfortunately, like @Cheeseness reported, the game seems to crash in VR with this version :(
Both in OpenGL and Vulkan modes.

Seems Unreal Engine broke something :(
I get "Timed out waiting for renderer thread" (60s)

What? Vulkan? How to enable it for the non-VR mode?

-vulkan as a launch option, but it only renders the HUD and menus for me outside of VR.

Yeah, same for my system, too. Only renders the Menu and HUD. Everything else is just brown brick / wall.

Anyway, thanks.
