Why does nobody like the APC?
I play on PS4 and everytime I call in an APC someone calls a turret down on it or kicks me xD. Its helpful driving around the map, but the level twos only have their precious Mechs. Anyone agree?

Could be an accident if people are dropping things on it. Not sure how useful they are though. Helldivers with the sprint perk move about as fast as an APC without being clustered together and possible to take out with a single illuminate light wall.

I've seen people make effective use of APCs (you can use them as essentially a movable gun emplacement on a defence objective or retaliation strike) but the machine guns are bit fiddly and slow to aim and there are other perks that can accomplish the same stuff.

Had a great moment once where someone called an APC at the start of a mission and the three of us piled in, then a fourth guy joined just as we were getting in and the hellpod squished all three of us and the APC to boot. Ah, helldivers :)

mostly 'cause it's a deathtrap, the only time my groups ever wipe is when we're in an apc

It's a deathtrap in most cases and this seems especially true if used on very high missions with a bad driver.

I'm a great driver + it depends on who's in it. If you have people that can tell where to shoot and when then it's OP.

In my experience it's a bad idea to put everyone in one. First, it's a liability--even if you can generally avoid a TPK, you run that risk. Second, a group is better at suppressing patrols on foot if they're decent players; the APC has blind spots. So, in a sense, the APC creates the problem it helps solve: getting you swamped in enemies. Also, even with a fairly good driver it can actually slow a party down.

Don't get me wrong, they're useful in some situations, especially the more heavily armored version. But in general it's not the best way to run an entire mission, and it takes up a valuable slot.

I honestly stay away from vehicles in general nowadays unless I think I really really need one. Being on foot works for me 99% of the time.

Vehicles are just too fussy in this game and lead to too many accidentals. The only time I can see one being helpful is doing a drive-by with the tank against Cyborg AA objectives. There should really have been a second of invulnerability when getting out of a vehicle as I've seen drivers run over themselves way too often.

Always hate when someone drops a vehicle and expects the team to participate in it.

APC's cause more trouble than they solve. Only useful vehicles are the Exo's and even then they are of limited use, they can't react to patrols properly and are best for defense-oriented objectives.

Nah. It's a quirk with the latecomer's hellpod placement, that thing has a tendency to land on important things, like group members or vehicles. I kinda wonder if there is a subroutine that places them for maximum inconvenience, or just a RNG.

It happens way too often for me to accept that it's random. I had a hilarious game the other evening where I was solo'ing a 10 Illuminate planet and my mate joined me - never has relief turned to horror so quickly as when I saw my backup slam straight into my head.

Some people like using fun items and some people take the game (and themselves) too seriously. Problems happen the two kinds meet.

Not sure how to fix that unless you only let like-minded friends play or we get the ability to name our "rooms" to specify the goal.

I'd suggest talking to your team and finding out what the plan is, but everyone freaks out because they can't type and shoot at the same time lol
