How to fix the launcher read/write error & more!

If upon launching the launcher for the game and you get like 3 different errors preventing you from playing/using your mod list then I have found the fix.

You do not need to delete anything at all, You just need to do is go to the search bar on your windows desktop and type in "Virus & Threat Protection" then click on it and then go to "Protection History" and from there you should be able to see that your windows defender has been blocking all of the HOI4 processes which has been giving you all these errors on start up and that have prevented you from playing the game!

Crazy how the devs haven't fixed this issue after all these years!

There are complaints going back like 5-6 years about this that devs literally cannot figure out how to fix and still haven't fixed, My game was totally unplayable but now i figured out how to fix it and i'm leaving this here for others to know as well.

It's not a bug. It's your decision to turn on "controlled folder access" on Windows. Basically, this setting prevents games from accessing some folders. Only you can allow the game to modify selected by you folders.

Or how about patching the game so it doesn't flag the exes with common anti-virus software even ones that come built in with your PC like every other game developer?

I read about it and you might be half right. "Controlled folder access monitors apps for activities that are detected as malicious. Sometimes, legitimate apps are blocked from making changes to your files." I think, nobody knows for sure how not to be detected as malicious. Rockstar launcher, r6 siege, Nvidia (https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/uday7s/windows_security_blocked_nvcontainerexe/) have problem with it, so I don't think paradox can do anything with it. But who knows lol. Maybe they can. It's not what we can say for sure.
We can say that they need to create hoi5 that uses at least 6 proccessor cores, not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ engine of hoi4 that in 2025 uses 1 core. Not million useless DLCs that add only focuses.
