HOI4 NOT LAUNCHING

Hello all, I have had this issue for months now.

I cannot launch the game at all. I press play, it loads a bit, and then stops. It doesn't freeze, doesn't go black, doesn't launch the game at all.

I am running Windows 7 however, does it have something to do with that?

I have tried switching compatibility to Windows 7 and still no change.

I tried loading it from the directory (steamapps/common/hearts of iron 4/hoi4.exe) and i got this error:

"The procedure entry point Creat DXGIFFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll."

Of course it has everything to do with Win7, because Paradox no longer supports older OS (stopped in November 2023).

Or use Irony Mod Manager.

Also keep in mind that the latest Steam update was the first in which older, no longer supported operating systems may lose some Steam features.

Same here. This may sound weird to some people but I will fight using Windows 10/11 for as long as I can.
