icons of generals and field marshals disappear because of this divisions cant be attached
Somewhere in 43-44 the game may crash, and after a reboot the icons of the generals disappear, the divisions are detached, it is impossible to attach them back and it is also impossible to manage. If you load a save, everything will go back for a while. I tried changing DirectX 11 to 9 and OpenGL, it didn't help. I play with the Road To 56 and Vanilla Navy Rework mod, there are more but I don’t think they can affect it.

I'm pretty sure that it's due to rt56 - their previous problems were fixed, but new random ctd started appearing during WW2.
Ofc it can be connected to some mod, that adds portraits or modify existing ones.

Do you remember when this bug started to appear? If you do, then check on your workshop list which mods were updated that day or day before. One of them is most likely a culprint.

This started quite a long time ago. I think the developers would correct these errors because Rt56 is updated once a month

But I'll still try to play without rt56, maybe it will help. Thank you

If you've AAT DLC, you may try to turn it off and play with all of your mods on.

When rt56 introduced AAT into their mod, they broke it pretty badly. Now most problems are fixed. Only 1 that is left, are those random CTD during WW2.

Then most likely it's mod conflict. Go to Documents/Paradox/HOI/crashes and check if there is a crash log there. It may have hints about what and why happens.

in the logs it says “unexpected token in file: “autosave.hoi4”” several times for various reasons and then “Savegame is truncated, the game will likely crash!” . Afterwards everything is repeated with the same reasons and an inscription about crash. Also, for some reason, it’s written about mods that I don’t even have enabled.

Unexpected token means that there is either extra or missing something in particular line. It's clean indicator of mod conflict/s.

There is a chance that some of the not enabled mods changed sth in the past - unsub from them, verify files and check if problem persists.

If it does:
  1. save game 1 month before crash,
  2. Turn off all mods except Rt56 and Navy Rework,
  3. Load save, play awhile and check if it's crashing,
  4. Turn remaining mods in group of two and repeat step 3, the moment game crash, you've enabled the faulty mod.

It's lengthy process, but unfortunately only way to identify which one and why.

Or you can go through faster method (but not guaranteed) - backup your saves and playsets and then delete entire folder HOI from Documents/Paradox.

Thank you very much for your help. You helped me a lot. I will finally be able to play until later years. Good luck, have a nice day and sorry for the long response.
