Best CPU for Paradox games?
I have been wondering, what is according to you guys the best CPU I could get to run the game like its 1936 (fast as duck) in the 1940s? Also, does the CPU makes the such grand strategy games go faster? I was at a friend's home and played CK3, while he had a worse GPU than me, he had a better CPU, and the game ran fast as a train

You would need to go with AMD, It's less about cores and more about L3 cache.
Apparently pdx games really profits from L3 and quality improvement is noticeable in late game.
Biggest cache right now has Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Isn't the biggest the 7950X3D at 128MB?

Intel i9 with 32 GBytes RAM and all SSD storage, along with NVidia GTX-2080 8GBytes purrs along quite nicely for me.

You're right, my mistake.

Intel and Nvidia works fine, but unfortunately if you want CPU strictly for Paradox games then AMD reigns.

any modern cpu will run the game BETTER not WELL
like most games out there this game doesnt take full advantage of the cpu cores
it all comes down to how fast a single core is

7800X3D > 7950X3D because AMD didn't optimize 7950X3D.
On the 7800X3D, every core has access to the L3 cache, whereas only half of the 7950X3D cores have access to the cache, meaning the 7800X3D actually out-performs the 7950X3D.

HOI (and every other paradox games) dumps most of its load onto a single core. With the 7800X3D, it doesn't matter what core because all have access to the cache, but with the 7950X3D it may dump the load onto a core without the cache. this is why people have been disabling cores on the 7950X3D
