Of course. You personally benefit. You will be happy about that. Others are not because they paid for all three DLC’s, and their purchases have been made redundant and pointless.

i mean, aslong as their purchase wasnt like the day before then i dont see the purchase being redundant, you got what you paid for, sure i was a little bummed when i saw 2 of the dlcs i already bought were now free, but if you bought the DLC'S like a year or two ago then it doesnt really matter, as you had your moneys worth with the DLC you paid for already. atleast thats how i see it.

That’s okay if you feel like that. Others, including myself - don’t. By all accounts they are including these DLC’s in the base game. Which then raises the question, why wasn’t this content in the base game from the start? Why would you put it as a DLC? Why would you charge people for it? And why would you as a consumer buy it if it was going to be put in the base game. But we didn’t know that - that’s the problem. We didn’t make an informed choice, as we were never told that it would eventually be free and put in the base game.

I have said that all of these DLC’s aren’t DLC’s in the first place. All of it should be in the base game. None of it is nice little additional content. The base game is purposefully stripped down and barren, so then they could sell DLC to squeeze out more money from the game. We knew this already, and that in itself is a problem. But for them to suddenly shift and put this in the base game - where it should’ve been in the first place - AFTER we already spent our hard earned money purchasing them (especially when we were never told or informed that it would be included in the base game), is another issue entirely.

It’s a double whammy, and incredibly disgusting, slimy, disingenuous and completely disrespectful to their established players and user base.

Usually companies do this when the game has been superseded by a new game. It hasn’t. This game is still in the development cycle, where they are releasing content for it. It is still their newest and foremost game in the series.

well that makes sense, i do agree most of the DLC should be part of the base game, or atleast a bit cheaper, but at the end of the day most the people complaining will still probably continue to play the game and give it more money anyways.

A credit to our account, making other DLCs that aren't free free for those people, etc etc etc.

I don’t dispute that - it’s just irrelevant. But that doesn’t make it right or isn’t an argument for why this is okay though.

I know, but what my point was is people will eventually forget this and keep on buying the new dlc's, so it doesnt really matter if you think its a good or bad choice, as people will keep buying the dlc's, and paradox will just continue to make more dlcs as normal, and people will forget this ever happened at some point.

You are probably right unfortunately. That’s what needs to change.

You are talking practically and the reality of the circumstances though. I’m speaking from a principled and moral and rational perspective and position. We are having two different conversations.

That doesn’t mean it’s right, or okay.

I personally don't like the DLC becoming free because PDX is gonna rework Germany and Japan as a new DLC, then your going to have to re-buy the alternative history paths for said nations. (Assuming you have purchased Waking the Tiger.)

It's good for new player, yes, but people like me who have had this game for years and over time bought DLCs we lost out, especially the more recent the purchases.
Bored Peon Mar 16, 2024 @ 7:35pm
Those DLCs have had how many dozen of sales at 10-75% off in the 6-8 years they have been out. Maybe was even a 90% sale at some point, not sure because I bought them when they came out. Much bigger things to worry about in life than a company giving away $15 worth of merchandise.
Jarl Tobi Mar 16, 2024 @ 8:12pm
there more things to worry about than 3 very old dlcs that dont have good focus trees

please stop posting ragebait when you’ve had multiple people explain why they feel like they do, and have detailed their points too. It’s tired and boring. You are purposefully missing the point and being annoying for the sake of it.
