Task force management - drag and drop

I tend to manage my task forces by dragging and dropping the ship icons between TFs. Which is fine as long as all the TFs in a fleet are on the screen at once (talking about when it's open on the left hand side). But while you can scroll up and down you only get about 5(?) TFs on the screen at once. So with up to 10 TFs in a fleet, if you've got a destroyer in the TF at the bottom you want to move to the TF at the top, I cannot work out how to do it other than some ridiculously convoluted method of moving it to a middle TF, wait for it to merge and moving it again.

You can't seem to change the position in the column of the TFs. I thought there might be some right/left click method but I've not found a way that works.

I suspect I'm missing something blindingly obvious. Anyone know?

I don't feel like deciphering your description like I'm translating something and crosschecking with what little I know about the sub manager.

Do you have the Man the Guns DLC? If so click on the admiral in charge of the group of fleets, there will a appear a horizontal box with an icon for each fleet that the admiral commands, click the TF you want to transfer from then select the desired ship or ships and left click them into the new fleet.

Thanks for that. Quite hard to describe but I thought I made a good fist of it.

I'll try this.

You click on an admiral. Their fleet opens in the task force manager on your left. With me so far?

If there are a large number of task forces, you don't see all of them at once, you have to scroll down. Check?

So the top task forces and the bottom task forces are not shown simultaneously.

That being the case, you can't drag on drop between those task forces.

So how do I move ships between them?

Any better?

This is probably why Googling the issue has got me nowhere. It's hard to describe yet I guess the solution is simple.

Yep, got Man the Guns.

Click on the admiral and the TF manager appears on the left. Is that what you mean?

I think I've tried this with no success.

I shall go in again and see what happens.

Nope. I'm getting nowhere on this. I must be missing something obvious.

I right click the ship icons and that opens a new box to select the ship(s) I want to transfer, which I then do. Fine with that.

The box with the selected ships then disappears.

I left click the task force I want the selected ship(s) to go to. Nothing happens. Nothing at all.

I'm missing something aren't I?

Made progress of a form.

If I click in one task force then find the other one on the MAP and shift-click it, they're both then open and only them. So I can then drag and drop.

It works but it's a bit inelegant.
