2. How to prevent France/Germany attacking me?
3. How to unlock the army focuses?
4. How and when can I edit templates?
5. How and when can I change military laws?

Switzerland is borderline unplayable for me if I don't know these things.

1. Focuses on the left? Do you mean on the right? Left is democracy, right is fascism. Also, I'm 70% fascist popularity and still no event to change government.
2. Democratic UK and France attacked me "because they didn't see me being neutral".
3. They are locked, it says something about not being at 0% at cantons or something, I don't understand.
4. Lol, I know how to edit templates, the thing is, as Switzerland you can't train anything but Militia and you can't edit templates or create new ones (the buttons are grayed out).
5. I don't understand. I'm asking how to switch from citizen militia to literally anything else?

1. You need to complete focus Closer ties with the German Reich which requires following focuses: Infiltrate Federal Police and Complete the Siegfried Line. Then either Henne or Tobler,
2. Bad relations with them, you generated too much WT, attacked country guaranteed by major power. If you go fascist, Germany most likely won't attack you,
3. Armed Neutrality and then you will be able to choose between Guisan and Defence.
Switzerland has balance of power mechanic - some focuses have specific demand regarding it.
4. Some focuses enable editing divisions templates (depending on chosen path),
5. Same as above, either allow to change or auto-change

But the thing is - the Henne/Tobler paths are blocked for some reason and it says that I can't have zero something in the balance of power.

But you can't replace citizen militia, it even says so. Logic dictates that you should be able to change this, but I don't know how.

Professionalize Militias in the Fascist path allows you to edit your templates, otherwise you need to take decisions that move the balance of power to the left and increase fascist support to continue down the Fascist path.

In the balance of power Tighten Press Censorship gives a permanent movement to the left, Adopt the Rumantsch Language does the opposite.

Okay, thanks, but... this "left" and "right"... does it mean council and cantons? Council is left and Cantons is right? I had total Council control and the military focuses were blocked. Also, Italy attacked me together with Germany (I believe Italy has a claim on Ticino).

Yes, left means Council control but the balance of power mechanic is finicky at best so you might be too far left preventing you from doing some focuses.

And in my experience no one ever attacks you as long as you remain neutral and don't let relations be too much in the negative but maybe they changed that?
