How do people get immersed in Millennium Dawn?
Genuinely curious what makes it actually feel like it's modern day and not just WWII with a modern day veneer

that always my problem when trying to play it.

you want more than election event spam and economy crash because of stockpile?

Some of us aren't interested in war, everywhere, all the time, forever until the end of the game. We prefer smaller wars, specifically targeted, with time between them to relax and plot.

There is also satisfaction in taking everything that you need to dominate the world and not needing to go to war to do it. Victory without fighting.

Cause' waging wars in the modern day are far more costly, more difficult, and far more divisive. You can get away with taking all of central and South America in the base game, not have to worry about debt/economic collapse, and the US likely won't even care and won't lend-lease to the countries you've invaded. Millennium Dawn is more sophisticated and there is a realistic financial system that the base game lacks as well.
