italy is garbage
I dont get it, I actually preferred playing Italy before getting BBA, Mussolini's constant & stupid mandates, needing to do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ focus to release Ehtiopia as a puppet, the oddity that is flipping to another ideology; I cannot stand it.

they're a useless ally whenever you play as an axis nation & they're more frustrating than anything else to play.

p.s
if you are going to be the 900th person to tell me "capitulating ethiopia before going into exile is pretty easy" just dont even bother commenting ffs.

So get rid of thumbelini. Use one of the other fascists. Or one of the other ideologies. Italy can back any horse in the game.

It is crucial to win fast in Ethiopia, I've read but never played.
Italy in RL had difficulties as well. So... Is it a challenge?

My idea would be to concentrate on fighters and cheap torp.bombers and mayby subs to clean mediteranian off enemy fleets while developing industry.

This will be my next project, so: Any advice?

dont bother & play an actually fun nation would be my advice.
& good luck winning quickly, you've got nothing but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ troops in the region.

as I said, I preferred Italy before BBA, they're absolutely useless with it.
In my opinion the hardest part about BBA Italy is the fact that if you're playing Fascist, you're going to have a civil war once enemies take controlled (or cored?) lands. While having formed the Roman Empire and gone to war against the Axis, the Comintern, the Chinese United Front, and Japan, that's what got me. They literally took like a few provinces in the Middle East or something and the whole country split as was puppetted by Germany. But in my case I was playing with Italo Balbo as the leader so I didn't have to deal with Mussolini's demands.

You can defeat Ethiopia even before they do their focus to have an overseer when they capitulate and thus annex/puppet them. It is possible, my strategy was sending half my entire army to the north, and half to the south, give them air superiority, take the Ethiopian War focus, and just rush and encircle their troops and rush toward the victory points.

sitting around and waiting for more units to arrive doesn't work, theyll go into exile.
Well my gripe with Italy is that you don't have enough things to spend PP on.

But capitulating Ethiopia before they go into exile is pretty easy to do and you can win before the 3rd or 4th war escalation if you just bring enough troops from home to the front then attack non-stop until you capture the supply hub east of their capital, build some railways to it then keeping attacking until you win.

From there you take the focus that let's you form the puppet and you're done.
