So by saving weekly it ensures, that there will always be a pretty damn recent save, so that you are even less likely to be able to revert a blunder via savescumming.
For me the game has been stable even at 1956 so late game. But if you have technical problems they can be really annoying in Iron man mode! So better turn it off in your case!
1. what speed do you play
2. what speed do you have or pause when you do something (assigning orders ,troops ,tech)
3. do you frequently pause or slow down
4. do you have alot of small armies or a couple big ones
5 speed when nothing is going on then 2 speed when microing
yes i pause constantly
2 big armies usually along with a garrison army that occupies borders
this game has 3 problems that dont get fixed
1. frequent saves if you pause
2. the enemy makes 100 armies with 200 divisions that are all able to condense into 48 good divisions in 2 armies (this causes freezes and lags because they recalculate what they should do and give alot of microorders because 10 armies instead of 1)
3. buckets of planes and naval vessels when alot less would be fine or more condensed there is no need to account for every vessel instead have vessel divisions with 20 in there or other ways to handle more units
Kind of lost on how whether the game saves or not determines winning or losing a battle.
Anyways...have you disabled Steam cloud saves and OneDrive yet?
From my understanding the steamcloud doesnt effect anything until you exit or launch the game When its running everything is done locally.
This may be circumstancial and vary for different steam products, I am unsure of much beyond that and this is from my dialogue with official valve staff, which is ..... well Ill let you judge their credibility on your own. :)
I think it stores the hour by hour results until the battle is completed, with the battle results being stored in the combat log.
