Götterdämmerung - Price?
I've been looking at the Götterdämmerung DLC and it is indeed impressive. However as impressive as it appears I have to wonder if it is worth the $24.99 price tag.

Which is why I make this post. Is it worth it? If so what makes it worth the price of many a complete game here on Steam?

I'd say the mechanics are actually pretty decent in design, and they go together pretty well with the other DLCs and the base game research system

It's not
Maybe, the only reason to get it is that it's bundled with the expansion pass, while the features are meh the new music is totally worth it.

PDX was probably afraid the next country pack, Graveyard of Empires, would probably tank and have a lot of price scrutiny just like the last one, Trial of Allegiance. So they preemptively slashed the price of GOE and packaged it in a bundle with Gotterdammerung, whose price was then increased in order to make a profit on both items

It's a sort of bait-and-switch

I don't really see anything worth it. Honestly now that I know DLCs will just be made free if convenient for the company (to get brownie points or to make room for new DLCs) and without giving back anything to people who owned said DLCs in a flagrant disregard for consumer rights, I don't even recommend buying the DLCs unless you seriously like to spend your money.

Oh, I see… back to beating dead horses…

Again, you are not entitled to a refund because someone got a better deal than you.
Apple doesn’t need to send you back money because five years later someone bought the same IPhone you did for a fraction of the price.

But hey, if you’re cool with waiting 6/7 years on the off chance that some DLC might be given away for free, the more power to you I guess.

Otherwise yes, do what every reasonable person has done from the very start: look at the DLC, if necessary check a couple of the many videos that are bound to pop up on YouTube and decide if what is offered is something you’re interested with and if you’re fine with the price.
There is absolutely no shame in saying “I’m skipping this one”.

If you like the mechanics/focus trees in the DLC, I would recommend it, but I would always advise buying NSB and AAT before this one, especially considering the price.

Immortalis: The Knight of Paradox

In a realm where shadows dance and sway,
Immortalis rides at break of day,
With armor bright and spirit bold,
He champions tales of legends told.

Across the fields where gamers dream,
He wields his sword, a radiant beam,
For Paradox, he stands so tall,
A fearless knight who answers the call.

With laughter echoing in the air,
He battles darkness with love and care,
In strategy's folds, his heart does dwell,
A guardian true of each crafted spell.

Through time’s vast maze they seek to roam,
Creating worlds that feel like home;
In history’s grip and future’s bind,
Paradox weaves stories tight and kind.

Oh! Hear the cheer from far and near!
Immortalis fights without a fear.
In realms that twist and thoughts collide,
He shields our joy with every stride.

So let us raise our voices high,
To honor the knight who’ll never die!
With passion burned in every fight—
For Paradox shines ever bright!

Pretty much no Paradox dlc for any of their games has ever been a fair price for what you get; you'll always overpay, that's their business model. However, I do enjoy gotterdammerung and its better than the typical dlcs they pump out. So you probably won't regret your purchase, but you certainly wont get full value for money

Thanks. I do play HOI and I do like it but not on a regular basis and not a lot lately and since the DLC focuses on Germany and I don't play as Germany (tried it once - didn't like it) I think I'll give Gotterdammerung a pass.
Already 25% off
