Rework Asia by God
Holy hell, WtT has been integrated into the base game? I haven't played HOI4 in a long time, but Asia, more specifically China/Commie China/Japan need a rework, urgently. Just take a look at the Chinese focus tree, where 1/3 of it is shared with Manchuko and Commie China lol.

It also has a bunch of bugs, weird mechanics and just... I mean why the ♥♥♥♥ can Mao roll up to Germany and ask them 'give me Falkenhausen?' there can be three Falkenhausen. That and a bunch of more random ♥♥♥♥.

Everything of China, in comparison to other major nations, especially Germany, just seems really basic. China has no 'alternate' path in their tree. I get the fact that this is a byproduct of it being an early DLC, but throw us a bone man. Japan can at least choose to go some different ideology. Nationalist China's only alternate path, is to annihilate the Warlords and reunify, other than that, the focus tree has nothing interesting, and makes no use of new mechanics and shares literally one third with Manchukuo and Commie China lol

The general mechanics, decisions and events surrounding the second sino-japanese war also suck, they seem so basic, I can't be the only one yearning for a China / Japan rework. The next DLC is for India, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, but now that they are reworking major countries, I can't but think that China, Japan and Asia deserve a good rework in-line with what we got in Gotterdamerung

Rant finished?

Ok

The chances are very high we're getting an Asia/Pacific War rework in the next DLC after this India/Middle East one

Not a rant mate those are hard facts if you can’t see how the Chinese, Japanese or even American focus tree don’t stand up to other major nations then you’re blind.

Good to see that an Asia rework seems to be on the cards after the next DLC. That region really needs one. Hopefully the USA also gets a facelift the last time someone touched their tree was during MtG.

You gotta be trolling, inexperienced or blind yourself. While I do enjoy updated focus trees, the nations you mentioned are top tier, every single one of them. I'd rather have focus trees for countries that currently lack their own unique one.

China GG's by forcing Japan into a non-aggression pact using Diplomatic Pressure.
Japan GG's by just simply conquering China.
USA GG's by rushing The Giant Wakes.

What part of "Pacific War rework" can't you read?

If you can't see how little variety, and complexity Japan, China and USA's focus tree lack in comparison to Spain, Germany etc. then you are the blind one, just look at the tree size.

What good is size and complexity if it doesn't add depth? Splitting a focus from a +10% to 2x +5% isn't an improvement. But since it adds unnecessary size and "complexity" then I guess you'd be happy?

USA for example, already have all ideologies covered. Same with Japan, with China being split into different countries. Plenty of different options to take and different paths to take. Each having political branches as well as economic and militaristic ones.

China being the most unique due to being split into different countries (the warlords). Communist China and Nationalist China being the main ones.

There is literally no reason to update any of their focus trees until every other nation in the game has gotten their own unique one. All of them are plenty replayable, gives enough options to satisfy the majority and are top tier in the power rankings if minmaxing is the playstyle of choice.

This is coming from someone who mainly plays Nationalist China, USA and Sweden.

If tree size meant quality then Mexico would be everyone's favorite nation but that tree still sucks no matter how big it is. Same with Turkey

China's only alternate path, is to reunify period. There is no other path, you reunify and become a democracy. No path to join Japan/go fascist, no path to flip everything upside down and go communist for example.

China's tree has zero depth, it shares 1/3 of the tree with manchukuo and commie china. That in of itself is just terrible, just look at it, look. 'China is unique because it's split into warlords', no, the warlord system suck, the warlord trees suck, it's all really bad, there is no engagement, the mechanics are broken.

If they would put the same quality that they are putting into these newer trees, mechanics, decisions etc. into an Asia rework, then the region would be 100% more fun to play.

So all of your complaints for the 3 nations you mentioned at the beginning, pretty much boils down to "China can't go fascist".

Shouldn't you be complaining about USSR then which has one of the biggest focus trees in the game, yet is limited to only communist or non-aligned?

As I said, I wouldn't be against updating any focus trees, but there's plenty of other nations who have yet to recieved their own. They should prioritize those countries first so every nation has its own focus tree, no matter how small they are. Asian countries are good enough already.
