i'm getting tired of this crap... How can i prevent civil war in puppets?
I conquered Poland as the Soviet Union and puppeted it. 10 seconds later a civil war started, and my side had no soldiers because they literally just lost a war against me, and lost in 5 seconds.
I could not intervene or do anything that wasn't waiting for another 300 days before i could declare war on them again.
Honestly i am getting tired of all this ♥♥♥♥, instead of fixing the game they just keep adding dlcs... Do you imagine ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Stalin, chilling, as he loses control of a puppet state, straight on his border with Germany, 5 seconds after defeating it?

Is there a way to prevent such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from ever happening and just give my puppets a damn neutral focus tree that doesn't ♥♥♥♥ up the game with these stupid scripts?
Annexing states and releasing them later once they hit 60% compliance will solve the problem? Should i puppet singolar states sub-states? Leave a single territory free, so they are considered actual Poland and puppet all the rest?

I swar to god that i only annex not much because it gives me some extra manpower, that i won't throw away in suicidal charges like the AI, but because i am scared of all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that can happen if i don't.

by checking target country's national spirits. poland has many focuses boosting ideologies. non-aligned and democratic support already high at start.

boosting your communist ideology by spies is good idea. just to keep other ideologies low to prevent possible civil war/referendum

Thank you, unluckily i already had communism go up by 0.5 points thanks to various focus trees, wich is a lot. In practice, it was dropping by 1 whole point per day. The event was scripted. I was looking for an exploit to substitute the original focus tree with a generic one, less unstable, so such thing doesn't happen again during the match.
If i leave a single province free, and puppet the rest, will that single province get the original polish focus tree, and the rest of the nation a generic one?

I also had "communist education" going on.
When you puppet I think it sets the puppet country ideology to over 50% of what your ideology is. Like you said you can increase it with "communist education". Low stability will also cause CW. I think any debuffs like "wide spread mutinies" are removed when you make a puppet, but check for those. The only way I know of increasing a puppet stability if for you to tag over and use the puppets decisions.
it should have generic focus tree if its one of the subsidiary countries that have claims, as far as i know.
if you want to make a puppet with the generic tree, you'll need to make a puppet, but also leave OG poland alive somewhere, so that poland has the FT, and your puppet will have a D0X tag and the generic tree

it's not easy to do, and nations have a funny habit of just merging together on their own, not sure how it happens, but it's happened to me a few times and it's always annoying

making collab governments is also a way to achieve this, but for every nation would be unreasonable
Somebody's pissed

it annoys me when people answer just to f#ck around with other people. He didn't know aything about what i asked. At that point he shoul've just shut up.
Resistance (poland have lot of spirits really boosting it) + maybe they've formed government-in-exile; which complicates matter further. Some countries need lot of garrisons etc. to subdue them successfully.
yes, i puppeted Manchuko, and they rioted. The only way to stay safe is with a country with no special focus tree. Otherwise you just leave a single free province and puppet the rest, thus giving the puppeted country a generic focus tree.
For example, i annexed all of Poland, except for Danzig.
Danzig with its 300K inhabitants, remained the real Poland and kept the messy focus tree, and i got all the rest, with generic focus tree and no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attached.

no, no. The game is just full of scripted events, and whenever something unforseen by the developers happen, like a country declaring war on a neighbouring country *facepalms, these scripted events ♥♥♥♥ everything up. Thus the escamotage to give the puppeted state a generic focus tree.

Then turn historical focuses off

The game runs on scripted events even without historical focuses. Its how the game works. Its not like the countries stop taking focuses after being sacked.

Poland also typically goes civil war on non historic and you can justify on Poland pretty much at the very start of the game and sack them before they start the civil war (which can also be either communist or democratic). The civil war will also start by default on June 1st 1937 if Poland doesn't take the Agrarian Reform focus or earlier if it uses decisions to hasten the process.

He is also complaining that the puppet had a civil war (which can happen regardless of a focus) and his puppet lost the CW in 10 seconds with him being incapable of entering Poland to beat down the civil war and after the war ended not being able to force a war upon the rebels which in all fairness makes no sense if hes playing Stalin from a RP perspective alone (if it were Mussolini then ye maybe, everything's possible).

The same issue arises if you call allies into a war and they white peace through a focus or the games code forcing them and end the war because you didn't pay attention and forgot that this can happen like with Ecuador and Peru (at least this one I think you can prevent with turning historic AI off or at least lessen the chance) and then have to justify again because you also lost your focus war goal after the white peace like in Brazils case if they take the Focus to be able to declare on all fascist states that happen to be in South America.

Then clearly Mr. I is one of those HOI4 players who wants no national flavor and instead wants every nation to be perfectly and equally balanced, all the same except for color scheme for "WW2 Battle Royale"

this is clearly a derailment of the thread's original topic of discussion
