Macedonia is Greek and only Greek
While paradox has very accurate lore and story, having Macedonia as independed state is absurd,Macedonia is Greek almost for 2500 years and the so called Yugoslavs came near Greek Macedonias region after 800 years...paradox you should be ashamed for this

There exists a country, independent from Greece by its own choice, I know, shocking.

Their decision for sovereignty from Greece about settles the debate no?

As for Paradox being ashamed, ashamed for properly representing the historical reality of N. Macedonia not being a part of the Greek country in 1936?

Macedonia doesn't start as an independent state.
It can be released (and annexed by other countries) but the game faithfully represents the historical border of 1936.

If your issue is the possibility of having an independent Macedonia appear in the game, it's not any more absurd than the chance of having an independent Wales or Normandy or having the possibility to dissolve Germany and setting the clock back to the German confederation

Greece is a fake country, never a unified state of its own until it was invented by western europeans in recent history. Macedonia existed loudly, creating a massive empire, for centuries, with over 2000 years of history. Given the reality of ancient history, more accurately greece would just be extended macedonia, compared to the other way around.

How can someone be nationalistic over a country, and a debt riddled failed-state at that, that never existed under its own power and have any self respect?

You're country exists because a group of British Nerds decided it should exist. There was never a country called greece ever until that point. You aren't the Byzantines. They spoke greek but viewed themselves as romans. You aren't romans, you aren't the ottomans, you aren't any of those. You're greatest ruler and the only one to fully unify greece was't even greek he was Macedonian. STFU. You stupid nationalist. Don't go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on other nations when you're bankrupt country has never been successful on it's own without outside help.

So it would be more correct to say Greece is Macedonian. :steammocking:

Greece is one of the world’s oldest civilizations, with its history stretching back over 3,000 years to the Mycenaean period and even earlier. Often called the cradle of Western civilization, Greece has profoundly influenced the world in countless ways.

It is the birthplace of democracy, an idea first practiced in ancient Athens, laying the foundation for modern political systems. Greek philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle shaped the way humans think about ethics, logic, and science, while mathematicians such as Pythagoras and Euclid revolutionized mathematics. Greece also gave us the Olympic Games, which started in Olympia in 776 BCE and remain a global tradition today.

In the arts, Greece introduced theater as we know it, with both tragedy and comedy, performed in outdoor amphitheaters that are still admired today. Greek literature, from Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey to the works of Sophocles and Euripides, continues to inspire storytelling. Greek architecture and sculpture, epitomized by the Parthenon and stunning marble statues, set standards for beauty and design.

Beyond these contributions, Greek culture and its emphasis on humanism, rationality, and curiosity deeply influenced the Roman Empire and, later, the Renaissance, making Greece’s legacy a cornerstone of modern civilization.
