How do you dissolve an air group?

Or remove wings from it? 1.12.11, no DLCs.

Just delete it. (with it selected there is a trash can in the top left you can select to delete it). The planes go back to reserve and the manpower goes back to available. The only thing you loose by doing this is any training (skill level) those plans have.

Just select the wing(s) you want and click the shield of the group/theatre on the right side of screen you want them to be in.

That didn't work. but if I dissolve the wing and then added its contents to the new air group. Because the planes were not all the same model I was forced to create two new wings; it would let me create a single combined wing as before.

Hmm. Maybe if I had created only one wing the leftover planes of the other model would reinforce it, but since I can't dissolve a wing except by dissolving the group it isn't worth it.

This whole business is bad design.

I rarely dissolve wings unless they are really old but I create geographic theatres (right hand side) and move them from base to base that way. (Not sure what the difference is between a theatre and a wing?)

If you mean a theater and a group, I can't either. I've found that naming groups by their contents helps even though, AFAIK, I can't change the group numbers or order of persentation.
