This game is still selling considerable amounts of dlc, which take considerably less work than a full game and can sell from 1/5-1/2 the cost for 1/10 of the work. Until dlc is no longer hugely profitable, hoi5 will likely not be worked on outside of a small veteran team building the core engine innovations.

Any reason you expect HOI 5 to be "a really nice working" out of the box? Paradox don't have a good track record for that.

I wouldn't either, as this game is broken. The lag makes this unplayable, and people want a new game.
No thanks. CK3 was a straight downgrade from CK2, theres no reason to expect HoI5 to not be like a visual novel or something. The Paradox that cared about making complex and rewarding games has long since been replaced by devs that just want to sell as many copies to as broad a audience as possible.

credit where credit is due , lag is not as much devs foult , but inefficiencies of multi core processors

Dwarf fortress and lots of other sim games been running into that brick wall a lot

when i upgreaded my PC finaly , HOI4 ran much slower and there was no patches that week.

and hoi4 is running atleast 83? independent countries ais at same time

untill manufacturers of multicore procesors provide drives for them (like we do with grafical cards) , this problems keeps coming back in a lot sim games.

Hoi5 might come out later, but not soon. The devs are already working on a DLC and the game honestly is just really booming in popularity. Tell me a reason why the devs would actually make hoi5.

seems the engine has lots of problems with win11, they may need to start for the next game

Actually, yeah, that might be a problem. But I think they will just fix hoi4 and not make an entirely new game.

There have been 3 previous installments already. There is little question that they will make a HoI5, just that it will take quite a few years before that's even announced, let alone released.

In Victoria II, plus it's DLC, i do not experience a lag with the game. So why can't Paradox just stick with what works, instead they put in a lot of crap ( bells and whistles). just my opinion...
