What is the best doctrine in HOI4?
Whenever I play Hoi4 and a country doesn't have a started doctrine so I don't really have to pick, but whenever I don't really know which one is the best. Do you guys have any recommendations on whats the best and why?

Grand Battleplan if you use AI to launch attacks - the planning bonuses are huge.

Mass Assault if you micro-manage. The extra infantry battalions are a big plus.

Superior Firepower if you are a rich nation that can afford lots of support companies (USA, UK). USSR if following a strategy that doesn't need the defence bonus of Mass Assault.
They're all good in their own ways, except Mass Assault which only works with USSR or China.

But if you really don't know what what to pick then Grand Battle Plan is the most generically good, the left side gives more planning bonus while the right is more defensive focused around infantry.
gbp l is objectively the best attacking doctrine stat-wise due to the planning
the only "problem" with it is the opps spies but just put spies on counterintel and get passive def + that one that gives +50%(or was it 100%?) spy detection and its fine. also, gbp is the best doctrine pick for literally every nation but the ones that do ma r, but both r pretty easily interchangeable in an sp setting (listed below)

ma r in 2nd as it is the best defensive one due to org walls being incredibly good at defense (further buffed by this doctrine) and guerilla warfare being not only the best defensive tactic stat wise but also uncounterable(wtf paradox??) and works best for nations like sov, chi, and ita (along with every minor ever due to more manpower)
GBP is your swiss army knife, it's the best doctrine at a lot of things

Superior firepower is trash, don't use it, GBP gives you even more soft attack than SP if that's what you're going for. SP should only be used if you're doing an absolute meme of a build with line artillery (which you shouldn't use).

Mobile warfare is alright, but GBP is better even for your tanks.

Mass assault is the best defensive doctrine in the game, but works fine-ish in offense too.

So the answer to the question is GBP for offense and MA for defense.
i whould say Mobile warfare 1st
GBP 2nd
Mass assault 3rd
superior firepower last but it really depends in the situation, nation etc
i played Japan and tested all 4 doctrines to see which one was faster better etc, suprisingly all were good for japan
Grand Battleplan. Good for any nation. No real downsides. Kind of good at everything and it's the best for planning/entrenchment bonuses which both are pretty valuable...
Wow, thanks you guys. Hope you all have a great day! :D
Grand plan is #1
Superior firepower #2 because I like arty even if it isnt meta
Mobile is #3 I never seem to have many tanks anyways
Mass assault absolutely sucks I never use it even as the USSR (jury is still out on china I have not played any chinas yet)

superior firepower. The buffs to "all" infantry and stuff are really potent. Don't need to be a rich country to fill up on support. In fact I'd argue the opposite since you don't need as much equipment for support slots as you do line battalions.
Depends on playstyle. I do role-playing and follow the character of 'my' country.
But, on the other side, I e.g. never selcted the "desperate defense" branch as Germany, even if this would be more "historical". I was not defending.

There are several pages with explanations which doctrine when. E.g. for use of carriers only this doctrine and subs only the other one... Well yes. But I had subs and carriers as Germany. Worked anyhow.
