It's a bit outdated but mostly right, a new feature you have is a shorthand menu to select up to 3 aircraft types to make new air wings 1, 5, or 10 at a time using shift and control when making them. Alternatively you can split your selected aircraft in separate stacks with "D", and select half of them at a time with "S", to merge partial wings together is "G".
And to train anything to level 3 and automatically stop use shift+K, higher levels of units can only be gotten from combat.
2: Push N, or click on the icon of a Plane with a + next to it, on the airbase menu that pops up.
3: Assign a plane unit by clicking on the icon of the plane you want to add, then click okay.
4: The unit will show up on the map. It should be automatically selected, but you can also select it manually.
5: You will see the list of missions light up with the missions the plane can do. They are in order: Training - Air Superiority - CAS - Interception - Strategic Bombing - Naval Strike - Kamikazie Naval Strike - Port Strike - Logistics Strike - Air Supply - Naval Minelaying - Minesweeping - Air Recon - Naval Patrol.
6: Click on the missions you want it to perform. Eg for a fighter unit, just click Air Superiority.
7: Right Mouse Click in an air zone on the map.
8: When the unit deploys (it takes a few days) they will perform the mission.
You can also attach a unit to an army, you do this by Right Clicking on the appropriate army unit, not a map location.
