Drewbstar, that's interesting. I "assumed" that what you see initially on focus trees is fixed, never changing all game long. Correct me if this is not true but I "assume" the focus tree at game start is rigid, fixed, "what you see is what you get" the entire game regardless of what branches of the tree you go down.
All can say is the "America First" focus is nowhere to be found. I wanted it to get the 3-4 buffs on construction via an advisor.

The USA has a rather unique tree, as some of it is fairly dated due to the age of its DLC (Man the Guns). It's actually possible to access a fair amount of the ahistorical content if you are willing to burn the political power. By hiring/firing the different political advisors to raise/lower the different ideologies, you can access the normally gated focuses without having to fully go down any set path. IIRC if you min-maxxed the left side you could fully clear the Great Depression debuff by 1937 using the communist focuses (importantly, without triggering the civil war) then switching back to democratic advisors. It's been a while since I've done this tactic so it may have changed.
Here's the first one I found which talks about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQbW_m3uAAw
