no

Would be a bit cheap honestly if that were implemented. Achievements would be an absolute trivial thing to obtain if that were the case.

I get what you are saying now. Why not just not cheat though? Don't press tilde, don't download iron man incompatible mods, only use autosaves that fit within iron man boundaries, don't manually save, etc.

It isn't really difficult to not cheat.

No. You either:
1. Play from start without the ability to cheat/use commands for any other reason. No non-cosmetic mods, and get achievements.
OR
2. You don't have ironman, you can save manually, use console for whatever reason, use non-cosmetic mods, but no achievements. If you want console on just to make certain events easier, then it isn't hard to resist cheating.

End of story...

No but you can backup your ironman saves in case you mess up

Ironman as a setting is strictly for achievements and what not. You can enforce the same exact rules on yourself without that setting by disabling/not using autosaves, and to only save/load when you quit/begin playing again.

Definitely accurate for the majority of players I would say. Or at least beyond a small percentage of achievements accrued when you look at the global stats for achievements.

When Iron Man pretty much kills the ability to use mods that really make the game great why bother for some? I had the 1 achievement earned in 3 years time (Which seems odd as I got the game in 2016) until this September when I actually really tried Iron Man and earned a few.

yeah lmao, why would i play boring vanilla when i got a handful of total conversion mods that make the game x10 better
TasteDasRainbow Nov 16, 2021 @ 12:10pm
Yeah it goes without saying that a vast majority of the playerbase relies on conversion mods like darkest hour, road to 56, total war, etc. to enjoy the game by and large.

Would be nice to get achievements without ironman and just stop pretending like it matters so that people can enjoy their mods and still play toward milestones.

Nobody really cares if some people are going to make mods to fill achievements out instantly, they're imaginary pictures that demarcate a milestone in game, nothing more.
