What template, combat width, and tank design would I need to do in order to get a really powerful heavy tonk division
I have started playing this game again after taking a break for a while and found out that 40w and 20w are now obsolete, whenever I use heavy tanks they always have around 200-400 soft attack, 200-300 hard attack, and about 200 breakthrough. These stats don't really seem worth it to me for the greatly increased cost when I could just make really good 25w infantry coupled with air superiority and CAS.

Keep in mind, I'm not really concerned with how optimal it is to build heavy tanks. I know there are much better and cheaper options. I just want to LARP 1944 Bagration Soviets and steamroll everyone with KV-1's and see really big numbers when I click the green bubble. I also would prefer my template to have some sort of SPAA so that I don't have to build an airforce at all.

I'm also curious because I watch a lot of MP videos like Bokoen1 and Dankus Memecus where they build super awesome tank divisions with 1000+ stats across the board, but these are also modded games that change the combat width I'm pretty sure and some other things also and I'm wondering if this is replicable in vanilla?

There is no obsolete width. All the developers did was tweak the system where 20w and 40w was no longer the meta use by players.

You also seem to forget that 200-300 damage in the template designer is just base stats. You are not factoring in unit levels, general levels, general perks, tactics choices, etc.

Its a 36-40 wht , Good Sir. You want a big ass Tank division with big ass numbers to ♥♥♥♥ the ♥♥♥♥ out of defensive lines.
You want 30+ org (you get around 34-35 with doctrines) , so they last in battle.
Attack , armor,break ...you want it all HIGH , but numbers are variables , depending on what year are you in the game.

This is the generic tank division , jack of all trades I use on Germany and on USSR in PVE and PVP.
8 Mediums ,8 Mechanized , 1 tank destroyer and 1 anti AA (MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!)
Numbers you see are relative for 1939 germany,

There are far better moduls for tanks that are a MUST pick , like fast repaires , etc.
But you need to discover it yourself , play with etc.

if you no like the combat width restrictions,
then edit terrain.txt and set all combat width for all terrain to 500
and supporting attack width to 100 like i do

I understand full well, but keep in mind that not even the biggest economy will be able to produce tanks in huge numbers. Tanks come as a spear head, but the bulk of your army will always be infantry.

The whole point of this wasn't to find out whether air is better than a heavy tank division, I already know air is the better option.

Because pushing "generic" and "jack of all trades" templates is basically saying there's "one right template", which is a division template meta coming back after PDX did so well a couple DLCs ago to kill division template metas because they were killing the spirit of the game. Hoards of sweaty minmaxer optimization tryhards going around telling everyone there's one right way to play and taking any sort of individual fun or historical roleplay out of the game in order to turn it into a meta-filled map painting sim
