It is natural thing to happen!
Whilst i agree with some of your arguments... fact is they are a business and as long as people are willing to pay that business they are doing everything right.
Welcome to fed economics.
It is not about defending. It is about knowing what is behinds events in economy!
Do you remember Covid? It did cause many changes in prices. And salaries are big part of expenses in game making industry. We don´t have to like it, but expenses does affect the prices of the games...
There's a difference between releasing a quality fleshed out game which they haven't done in ages and planning a bunch of BS and purposely milking owners off a subscription service to mitigate their business risk.
It has nothing to do with the economy as they have been doing this for decade plus now, well before covid and has only got worse.
The quality of their games is abysmal these days. That has nothing to do with covid, and everything to do with how they plan and develop games.
If they released games and dlc to the quality that consumers expect we wouldn't be having this conversation.
The drizzle of free content is redundant, when they're selling us basic features in DLC's. That's no excuse.
That's how it goes, though. Same old, same old ~ just a different day.
