Opinion on the DLC so far?
As for me, I played as Brazil. Didn't really like it, too much jungle, no supply, and wtf is Paraguay? 9 divisions on a single tile, fully surrounded, and they can't be beaten. Insanely buffed.

I found it dissapointign. I also played brazil, went monarchist, and uh...
Yeah
Not a single extra core.
Not one.
No Portuguese cores, no south america cores outside of the ones I started with. Apparently, the only way they want you getting cores is through the focus tree that requires you to join the Axis.
Fighting is about as terrible as it used to be, paraguay has always been like that for some reason.

Guys, check this free mod made by passionate fans from South America. It has like 4x times more content than the new DLC. Of course, you need to return to 1.13 patch in order to play it right now (they are already working on a 1.14 ToA update).

i also played Brazil and it was bad a few events are broken and even though one focus says i will get a war goal on Columbia i don't get it 2/10 dlc

It's kinda okayish, but it could've been more.
Also, no shared tree between other South American nations (Similar to Waking the Tiger) for some unknown reason. Paradox being Paradox

Tried a Communist Argentina....managed to takea good chunk of Sud America, till USA joined a fascist Bolivia. Still too much 70 days focus, 2 research slots sucked...but the manpover and industry was not too bad. Will try again

Played a multiplayer game of Uruguay, had some fun stuff to do but overall it wasn't very exciting. Didn't expect much from the DLC and will probably end up being the first hoi4 DLC i don't intend on buying. Granted the region itself wasn't very involved in the war so maybe there is less room for exciting focus trees.

I just bought it without really following any of the dev diaries. I started up a game as Bolivia thinking they would have a focus tree since they have a new modifier at the start. Turns out they have absolutely nothing except for a generic focus tree.

You'd think if there were to be South America DLC for this game, they would at least give Bolivia some content. They lost so much territory (most famously access to the sea) that there would be an entire focus tree dedicated to you reclaiming all of your lost land, but I guess not I suppose. Not going to lie I'm pretty disappointed.

portugal BRAZIL is completely bugged. there’s no extra stuff either, and all of the cool south american countries are forgotten,

Also, Historical AI seems broken at the moment

You'd think before purchasing you would look at what the DLC is going to offer. :lunar2019piginablanket: Atleast you know now?

The monarchist path I took gave me a grand total of zero extra cores.

I didn't really expect new mechanics but was still hoping for some (I knew they hadn't said any) but I was also kinda expecting more countries. I expected at least all south america countries would have a focus tree, and maybe even central america.
But hey, my bad for preordering, I'm still gonna stick with my purchase. It isn't what I wanted but it is new content that is at least somewhat interesting. Still mad that I didn't get my cores though....

Once fixed It will add flavour when playing none historical but as a standalone and playing these countries has limited value, Probably worth getting but these flavour packs are not great without any new mechanics added

Well I didn't completely buy it blindly. I read the Brazil diary and thought it looked interesting but other than that I didn't follow it totally and wanted to be surprised at what I see. I did the same with the last DLC when I bought it and while I knew Italy, Switzerland, and Ethiopia got a focus tree, I was surprised that Aussa out of all random nations got one. I figured it would be the same but clearly I was wrong.

I don't understand why the DLC would put in the ability for Brazil to make itself "The United States of South America", along with annexing South American countries, without giving any cores to the land at all. They created a whole path right next to America do Sul, but they didn't give you any ability to actually core things, even if you annex things as part of your focus.
