That way I might stop myself buying the damn thing.
And that's not the point regardless.
I'm not involved in this conversation, but I'm glad you brought up Bethesda because the two share a core anti-consumer principle: Disdain for confirmed buyers. Bethesda figured out sooner than most companies that the people who love your game are NOT your target audience, because they will BUY IT ANYWAY. Instead, you cater to people who are on the fringe, for example people who looked at HoI3 and said "Yeah, this looks great, but it's not pretty enough and there's too much micro". HoI5 in turn will be marketed to people who looked at HoI4 and said the same thing. As for the DLCs, they can see that the percentage of people still playing, but who aren't buying new DLCs, has increased. By running surveys they can cheat a bit, and figure out which region is most profitable to overhaul with a low-effort content pack.
The only people playing dumb and pretending there's nothing wrong (aside from a few thousand die-hard identitarian Paradox fans) are either new to GSG or new to gaming, because this same scenario has played out countless times and the lesson was already learned: You simply cannot let any company believe that you will buy their products regardless of quality, because in every case it will compel them to reduce the quality to save time and cost.
"You simply cannot let any company believe that you will buy their products regardless of quality, because in every case it will compel them to reduce the quality to save time and cost." This!! Which is what these fifteen year old do not, or have yet to, understand and find out. Why argue against your own interests?
I bought this game on sale and when I want to play I buy the DLC subscription and then I cancel it. This game gave me more than 500 hours of fun for very little cost.
its an 8 year old game now and they cant even get the basics done ...
i just stoped to buy dlc at the point i realised that
in the past we atleast got some new mechanics for dlc, now they are down to selling some little pictures with some random numbers called focus trees
paradox has chosen a verry dangerous path if you ask me
ppl wont suport this for verry long
just check the reviews and review numbers of dlcs ... doesnt look too lucratiive
iam no specialist or something but i would guess they arent selling too much dlcs
and they are on the best way to destroy the hoi francise
