Time randomly freezes

Is it just me or does anyone else's game randomly freezes time and limits your interactions with stuff. Something like lag.

Set updates to not download to steam while game is running, that's normal reason for this.

How do I do that?

Steam settings, download menu, move slider to disallow downloads whilst playing.

It's been off ever since, and right now I still have the time freezing thing

Autosave has been off ever since my first freeze and it stills freezes time and interactions

Any chance it's a conflict with a fragment of an old mod that's hiding away?

All mods are are updated and my game still freezes even with no active mods

Sometimes when you deactivate/delete a mod it leaves a fragment or two embedded in the main routines, I suspect this is what's happened to you, short of manually deleting everything to do with HOI4 and then a clean reinstall I'm not sure what else to suggest.
